Dr. Shirley Johnson-Hall, MD

For 11+ yrs, I’ve received such incredible care from Dr. Shirley Johnson-Hall. It takes me 2 hrs, round trip in traffic for my visits w/ her, but she is worth every mile & every minute of travel. I’m constantly amazed by Dr. Johnson-Hall’s superior bedside manner & generosity! She listens attentively to patient concerns & welcomes patient input. She demonstrates a respect for her patients’ time by being punctual & by reviewing medical charts in advance of appointments, while still devoting a generous amount of time to her patients in an unrushed manner. This doctor goes above & beyond to ensure that her patients receive the most accurate diagnoses & most effective treatments possible. Dr. Johnson-Hall’s competence, kindness, patience & professionalism are paralleled only by her humility. She helped save my life so that I could take care of & enjoy quality time w my son who had a terminal illness. We are both eternally grateful to you for all that you’ve done, Shirley! We love you!

I have severe heartburn which leads to (TMI but...) daily vomiting, several times, if I do not have my heartburn medications. I have been on the phone with their office for 3 weeks back and forth to get a simple refill on the same prescriptions I've been taking for 10 years...they keep telling me to call back tomorrow. When tomorrow comes...call back the next day. Meanwhile I'm staying up all night, vomiting, miserable, putting myself at risk for esophageal cancer, because they cannot process a simple refill. I've never encountered this before in my life. I plan to get my records at my next visit (scheduled for over a month from now, so I have to suffer another month I guess?!) and then never return to this horrible practice.

Arrogant and rude Dr. Stay AWAY

This woman is a drug dealer, plain and simple. I'd be more comfortable if there was a plaque in her office stating what pharmaceutical companies were paying her loans off. Every time I went for appts for GERD, I would tell her assistant new symptoms and how I was feeling (since you NEVER see her) and then when I would finally see her for 2 seconds toward the end, she would say "sounds like you have reflux..." then tell me to stop eating bad food and soda (which I don't), refill my meds or change me to some other random meds, then rush me out. The women at the front desk have screwed my billing up and gotten me into collections over 5 dollars (which I have a signed and stamped receipt showing I paid, and the woman who handles prescriptions could not hear me if I was standing in front of her with a megaphone. She's incredibly rude on top of that. Please save yourself the health problems this office will CAUSE you and go anywhere else.

Staff was not nice . Pa was rude and i had a hard time to get FMLA papers done corectly it took 3 trips to the office

Dr. Shirley Johnson Hall is a very good doctor and makes me feel very comfortable and at ease. She is down to earth and gives excellent advice on how to maintain balance and overall good gastronomical health. I trust her guidance and have been healthier under her care. Thank you Dr. Johnson-Hall

I went to see a doctor at Gastroenterology Associates of Suffolk to talk about my hemorrhoid. I didn't get to see a doctor, but they put me into a sleep and performed colonoscopy. I only saw the doctor after the procedure where I finally asked about my hemorrhoid. The response was "there is nothing we can do here". I don't understand how this place operates. Aren't we supposed to first discuss with a doctor and figure out what is the problem and what kind of tests are needed? This clinic doesn't do any consulting or explanation, just going to put you into a sleep, perform colonoscopy and send you a bill.

wonderful and thorough. She is compassionate and has a great personality. My father had colon cancer and she was the best and organizing his care to the surgeon and oncologist.
