Dr. Shirley Mae Knight, MD

I think Dr Knight is a great doctor who promotes healthy living, education, family values and children responsibility. I love ALL of that. The ONLY thing that rubbed me completely wrong about her is when she was telling me about my 6 year old daughter's belly not suppose to be there and how she is overweight. Great information, but i wish she shared it with just me and not in front of my daughter. I saw my daughter's self esteem just shatter right before my eyes. I sometimes see my daughter in the mirror trying to hold her tummy in. She'll ask me is her tummy going down. She's even asked me is she fat. I simply tell her you are a perfect size which in my opinion she really is. But other then the slight damaging feedback to my daughter's self esteem she's pretty good ill recommend her.

Dr. Knight is a great doctor! The staff is consistent and our family has never encountered a problem with her staff. Our children have been with Dr. Knight for 11 years now and we have nothing but positive experiences.

Dr. Knight is a great doctor she is very caring and attentive to her patients. I felt very confident in her diagnosis with my children, however, her staff is horrible, they are rude, uneducated, and very unprofessional. I didn't want to leave but I dare not continue to go to a place that treat customers/patient so poorly. If you consider going please go and visit the office first before making a decision.

She is an amazing doctor! She always listens to what you have to say. She is awesome with kids and always explains what is going on. We also love her nurse!!!!

Dr. Knight is a caring doctor and the other doctors are great too. The nurses are also great but the staff and Esse health are horrible! I have gone in with no one in the waiting room while the receptionist and other staff chatted about non work related topics for 15 minutes before assisting me. Another occasion I called the office to schedule an appointment before the phones shut down for the day. I was the next caller in line my entire 15 minute car ride home. Frustrated I drove to the office which was down the street from my home. Still on hold, I walked in and the receptionist was sitting there with her eyes closed. She must have either put her phone in do not disturb or shut down the system with me still holding even though at the time the phones didn't shut down until 4:30 and it was only 4:20. Basically the staff is apathetic bordering on lazy. It's a shame to give up a great doctor for this reason but it is simply horrible. Also, the after hours Exchange does not yield a doctor… but a nurse. At times I have been told to do things after hours that goes against what Dr. Knight has told me. The after hours nurse gives instructions based off of what a medical database tells her to do. There is no way in avoiding this because its the way Esse health is run.
