Dr. Shirley Mathew, MD

Absolute garbage. The worst of the worst. Talks down to patients and family members. Has the listening skills of a ferret. The biggest narcissist in the medical field of I have ever come across. Do yourself a favor and get yourself another doctor. Even Dr. Google is better than this simpleton.

Dr. Mathew helped out my mother in law by listening to her instead of ignoring her like other doctors have in the past. Her compassion and care was the reason she has earned our trust and we know we can talk to her about anything. Thank you Dr. Mathew!

Dr. Mathew is a caring doctor that always goes above and beyond. Her experience and knowledge is unmatched and what I like most about her, is that she is direct and will get you answers! I cannot recommend her enough!

Doctor Mathew is a very caring and knowledgeable physician who has wonderful bedside manners. She had cared for my mother extensively for 18 years and during that period of time she addressed my care as well. She would make ingenious recommendations outside of her practice for an ENT or other physicians who could give the same care. She would provide an email or emergency number which she would be responsive to at any hour and on weekends as well. I have been fortunate and honored to have her in my life because she always and I repeat always made the sacrifice and the difference in my family my friends and my life as well. Dr. Matthew was recently my attending physician at North Shore University Hospital. She always came into my room with a smile. Her bedside manner put me at ease. She addressed all of my concerns by ordering the tests needed to fully diagnose my symptoms. I never felt that she was rushing when she came to make the morning rounds. She took the time to listen to me and listen to my concerns. Dr. Matthew is an amazing, caring and knowledgeable doctor. I would consider any patient she has as being very fortunate.

Does not communicate with patients

Very good, takes quick appointments. She is very nice.

On multiple different occasions she has proved to be a less then good Doctor. Very short in discussion and talks about what she wants and disregards the questions you have asked. In the multiple occasions she had shown up to the hospital to see my family member she has yet to prescribe or share any treatment to resolve the medical issue my family member was experiencing. Today she had come to his room and didn't acknowledge the pain he had & disregarded his questions. She had then left and canceled the plan and medicine the ER Dr. had explained to us. When asked to speak with her when we found out that she had canceled everything that was planned and did not replace it with a new one. We were told she said she spoke to us already today and she will stop by again tomorrow. I would prefer she didn't!!!!!
