Dr. Shirwan Ahmad Mirza, MD

Every question I’ve ever asked him the response was aggressive, snippy and rude. He acted as if I was questioning his credentials and not just a patient wanting to be educated on their health. It’s his way or the highway and he does not have time for your opinion or anyone other providers- for example I asked dr. Mirza how often I should have my thyroid checked seeing as I’m pregnant and it’s extremely important to monitor my levels (especially within my first 12 weeks). He advised me that his originally answer of every 3 weeks is wrong and I am only to get it done in 5 week’s followed by an appointment with him. After bringing to his attention that I wrote down 3 weeks and why was he saying 5 he proceeded to yell at me and tell me he was the doctor and knows what he’s doing. I was taken back by this response and decided I would just have my OB monitor my levels since it’s easier to have a conversation with them. I then went and had my first panel of bloodwork by my OB and my thyroid… levels were way out of range. My OB advised me to contact my endocrinologist to help correct my levels. Once I called dr. Mirza and explained the situation he proceeded to yell (literally yell at me) for having bloodwork that tested my thyroid with my OB as if I went behind his back and was doing it to go against the timeline he recommended. He continued to go on and on about how I should of never had the bloodwork and I don’t listen to him and he’s the doctor! I was FLOORED so not only did he avoid the obvious (my levels being out of range) he was more mad at the fact that another provider picked up on something he blew off. I cannot stress enough how unprofessional this “doctor” is

Very pleased with how thorough he is. Looks at the big picture of your body and how everything is connected. Thinks outside of the box and makes sure that he covers everything. Very up to date on his practices. Constantly studying. He has helped me tremendously and I am very thankful.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Mirza for 3 years. Initially I was impressed with his medical degrees and knowledge. I consulted with him regarding bone density issues, having had a DEXA scan that showed osteopenia. He put me on a regimen of supplements that totaled about 10 pills a day and one shot a month. When my labs were not improving he put me on a GF diet. Still my bone density didn’t improve. My most recent visit was terrible. He was convinced that I should start taking a bisphosphonate drug and when I stated that I was not in favor of that and wanted to try more natural approaches he became angry, insulted me, and refused to listen to my ideas. He even challenged a statement made to me by my orthopedic surgeon about the efficacy of using those bad bone drugs by wanting to know the surgeon’s name. No patient should be talked down to by their physician, no matter how many degrees that doctor holds. I do appreciate the fact that he spends ample time with you during your appointments… but if more time means more criticism of you and your ideas then it’s not worth it. And if he gets angry it all goes downhill from there.

I wasn’t given scripts for my issues. Instead you continues to check labs and monitor my supplement intake. Once I started taking what he suggested (and no he doesn’t sell any), I started to feel much better after years of being in pain!!!

Doctor Mirza is AMAZING. His ability to diagnose and treat metabolic issues swiftly and properly is life changing. Doctor Mirza is forever educating himself on the most up to date studies and medical findings so he always has a finger on the pulse of what's relevant. He also has an amazing way of looking at things holistically so he is not just administering medications, he explains in great depth and in ways that are easy to understand, what the actual science is behind what is happening with my body and how to improve my condition through proper nutrition and care. I never feel rushed when I see the doc. I really look forward to gaining new insights each time I visit and I look forward to his thorough assessment of the tests and bloodwork he orders ahead of time which he really studies and follows to make sure his patients are at their optimum health. I attribute my success in great part to Doctor Mirza, a true partner in my health, so i can stay energetic and focused.

I am writing this review in support of a great doctor, Dr. Shirwan A. Mirza. He is a doctor of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. I have been a patient for almost two years. He has helped me with many health issues. His knowledge about metabolic balance is amazing. He does not just look at one area like other endocrinology doctors I have had in the past. He looks at the whole body. Most recently I had some rather alarming results in lab work and he immediately looked into every avenue to getmto the bottom of the problems. He called personally at home several times to check on me and reassure me. He is compassionate and really listens to your concerns and symptoms. I feel lucky to have a doctor who is so knowledgable and supportive. My daughter was his patient before me and she has had the same great experience. He has helped her to feel better and has managed her symptoms. I recommend Dr. Mirza highly. i

Dr. Miraz changed my life! Where other doctors handed down a diagnosis, Dr. Miraz asked "why" and got the heart of the heart of the issues so we could fully resolve them instead of just throwing pills at them. Hard work on my end as well as his, I'm grateful to have a TEAM and have him on it! Never rushed, he has spent more than an hour with me when needed and his ahead of his peers in terms of nutrition's role in health.

My symptoms were dismissed by other doctors and I was misdiagnoded with chronic Lyme disease and Multiple sclerosis (speculative diagnosis). After a few long visits and targeted scientific testing, now I have an answer to my problems and I am making a lot of progress. Thank you Dr. Mirza.
