Saved my life on two ocassions

He completely ruined my wife's life after he injured her pancreas during surgery and not sharing the information with us. We found out only after a different medical facility identified the issue. My wife never recovered from the issues caused by him.

My Dad is a patient of Dr. Maithel’s, and he saved his life. Dr. Maithel’s knowledge is deep and the best possible, and his experience is unparalleled. He is the expert in oncology diagnosis and treatment. He listens & processes information from the patient, and the family. He is efficient without being brusque. He is wise and calm. He is a hero. You can trust him with your life.

On this "National Doctors Day", we are so very, very grateful that our awesome God chose Dr. Shishir Maithel as our son's surgeon and head of his TEAM here at Emory. There's absolutely no doubt that this extremely skilled and compassionate man saved our son's life!!! This man has spent countless hours caring him as well as counseling and educating us. He has never seemed the least bit rushed or agitated when we asked questions, even if we asked them more than once. On this "National Doctors Day" we say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts, Dr. Maithel!! You have given us God's greatest blessing by saving the life of our son!!!

Dr. Maithel was my surgeon at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga and although I didn't know any background info about him, our first meeting was beyond my expectations. He is extremely compassionate and very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and he made everyday at the hospital very comfortable. He is a class act for a physician and surgeon. I highly recommend him.
