Dr. Shivam Dubey, MD

Dr Dubey treated me for years with a sub-therapeutic dose of risperdal for mild depression. When I developed sleeping problems, he added trazodone. He tried to raise the risperdal dose which made me so lethargic I could not move normally. His manner can be disarming but I would not recommend him to a client.

I've been having difficulty thinking of anything worthy of criticism, regarding Dr Dubey, and I can't think of anything other than some superficial difficulty I have had understanding him, but I'm seeing him because I have focusing difficulty, and he is patient, so communication is not a problem. I am impressed with his knowledge, and the genuine interest he expresses in his patients. He obviously reviews his interviews and does a serious amount of research between appointments. I may not like all of his decisions, but I trust that they are well-considered. Of the six psychologists I have met, either for my own situation or for my wife's, he is among the two I most highly regard. As a patient, I would highly recommend Dr. Dubey to another patient.

Dr. DUBEY was very compassionate and he helped me so much. He spent time with me when I was in crisis.

This is the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen, and I've seen my fair share. He has absolutely no compassion and puts blame on everyone else and not where it really belongs. If you are sensitive DO NOT see Dr. Dubey. I have had an eating disorder for over 23 years and was told my weight (my chart is flagged to weigh me backwards and to not disclose my weight in front of me). I immediately became hysterical. He asked, "Why are you crying?" I told him I was told my weight and I'm not supposed to be told. Then, he said, "Why are you so sensitive to your weight?" I told him anyone with an ED is going to be sensitive to their weight. He told me I needed to work on that. Then, he had the audacity to tell me my BMI. That is the same as him telling me my weight and was like a slap in the face. Very traumatic experience. This was my first and last appointment with this psychiatrist.

Best Doctor I've ever had out of all fields. The ONLY psych dr who has ever helped me, including therapists, counselors so forth.
