Dr. Shivani Ram, OD

l had the worst experience with Shivani Ram. I commuted an hour to see her at the Oakland office, took time off work and got in line on the first floor to check-in. They told me to head upstairs to check in there instead. Upstairs, the lady at the desk told me Dr. Ram automatically cancels appointments if you’re more than 10 min late. I was 12 min late, and got held up downstairs for 5 min attempting to check in at the wrong counter. The front desk lady blamed the doctor— each doctor sets their own rules and Dr. Ram has a hard cut off at 10 min and won’t make exceptions no matter the circumstance. My guess is that she enjoys the day freeing up while her patients make their ways back home. When I attempted to speak to the manager at the front desk to explain my situation, the front desk made me sit down and wait the manager out who wasn’t going to arrive. After this experience, I am considering changing my insurance and leaving Kaiser, due to Dr. Shivani Ram's poor customer… service, disrespectful staff, and lack of empathy/care to patients.

I can only imagine her lack of empathy if you actually see her in person.
