Dr. Shobha Boghani, MD

I have seen her twice now. On the first visit, she did not adequately tell me about an eye condition that I had - rather she made such a vague reference as to make it meaningless. When I saw her a second time after a scary symptom from the condition she did not inform me of , I could not get enough information from her, despite telling her I need the scientfic explanation and need a prognosis. She would simply give one-word answers and and deflect anything else that required a decent explanation. It was bizarre, actually. She treats people as if they are numbers on a conveyor belt, with no concern as to the impact a condition might have on someone's life. She may be able to diagnose a problem, but if a doctor is unwilling or unable to communicate with the patient, they are a very bad doctor indeed. I would never allow her to operate on me.

Boghani told us that my mother- in-law needed a cataract surgery. She did the surgery. The patient's eye became nearly blind due to the bad surgery. Boghani said that the blindness was due to macular degeneracy. A macular expert checked the patient and told us that there was no significant macular degeneracy and it was most likely due to the cataract surgery. Very incapable

My Father has Dr. Boghani as his eye doctor from the VA clinic and is very pleased with her. She did surgery for his cataracts and has working with him with other eye issues. He feels that she is an excellent doctor.

Shobha A. Boghani, M.B.B.S. is the most insensitive doctor I have ever encountered. After completing my mothers surgery she said to her intern (with my mother in the room) well it doesn't look good does it. She was so insensitive, so uncaring, and had a complete lack of disrespect to my mother and our family. This ofice visit started with her starting the proceedure on the wrong eye- my mother had to correct her. My mother called me after her surgery crying and said "maybe she didn't even do a good job on my surgery because she figures I'm going to go blind anyway". What kind of doctor makes her patient feel so insacure about the proceedure that was done on her that she leaves the office crying."If you have a family member that needs help with their eyes or sight Shobha A. Boghani, M.B.B.S. is the absolute last doctor I would take them too.
