Dr. Shobha Ramaiah, MD

I have been a patient for quite a while. I find Dr. Ramaiah to be very knowledgeable, professional and thorough.

I could write so much, but I just want to say don't waste your time or money. Find another doctor.

Dr. Ramaiah was not up to date on treatment recommendations and was very condescending. She graduated from a foreign medical school and struggles to work in a system which she was not trained in. She lacks the depth of knowledge needed to practice effectively in the USA. She will not refill regular medications for asthma and other chronic illness as she wants the patient to return to her office for an office visit. She orders tests that provide no useful information and are not in treatment guidelines costing patients unnecessary money. I left the office feeling that I had wasted time and money and she entered things in my medical profile that were not accurate. She does not understand cholesterol management according to current guidelines or the current guidelines on the prevention of diabetes. She wants you to return for unnecessary tests so she can charge for an office visit. Stay away.

Dr. Ramaiah did not take a moment to get to know me or anything about me before sitting down and asking a bunch of scripted questions that resulted in a very disjointed and incomplete medical history. I was not able to review what she had in her records before she started her scripted questions. (Unlike my previous medical group which provided a printed copy of the drug list and medical history to review before the appointment so information could be corrected or added to the medical record. ) It was clear from her questions that much was missing from the medical history in the file and some of the information was not correct. She would not let me elaborate to fill in the gaps and she did not correct the history. She was insulted when I asked questions about her qualifications and experience. She wanted to change medications and frankly disputed my medical history without obtaining records. I have spent a great deal of time and money getting diagnosed and treated by… specialists and subspecialists. She did not talk to my specialists or see my test results, she just made up her own mind. I have made up my mind also.

Dr Ramaiah, needs to learn more about medicine then how many patients she can get in her office so she can make more money. She does ask questions but I think she falls asleep during the conversation or really isnt listening, she has made several assumptions and when you say hey I didnt say that she states yes you did.....to me and my family that is a red flag you should get another doctor, one that is listening and paying attention to your problems. She also seems she has a chip on her shoulder and does seem phyco at times. Also found mistakes on meds she has given but when brought to her attention she did correct them but seemed puzzled she did that.....Not happy with her but dont mean any disrepect....but got a different doctor.
