Dr. Shobha Rani Rao, MD

I have been going to this MD and office for 29 years. I recently had a hysterectomy with a urethral sling. I also ended up having a rectocele repair which I was unaware of until I received the bill for the services. (I didn't see the MD in the hospital at all after surgery.) I am an otherwise healthy individual and should have had an easy recovery. I have had issues from day one and the recovery has been horrible and extended. I am about 10 weeks post-op and my concerns linger which are brushed off as "normal." I think if the potential complications had been explained to me more thoroughly, I would have chosen not to have surgery at all. I am afraid that the issues will continue and that I will have to seek a further evaluation from another provider in the end.

Dr. Rao has been my GYN for over 20 years, she is one of the best medical professional I have every experienced. When I have any type of medical issue I will reach out to her first, because that is the level of trust I have in her!

If I could leave no star I would. I have been going to Eagles landing for over 20 years. Never have I ever experience someone so hurtful, and uncaring. Dr. Roa came into the exam room with an attitude because I had been seen at the Mayo Clinic in FL. I brought in their notes. She even had the nerve to say that the 3 doctors that told me I had Fibro only told me that because they didn't know what was wrong with me. The exam that she performed was very painful, she complained that It would be hard to treat because I moved so much, but she was hurting me, She asked if it hurt I said yes and she did it even harder. She stood against the wall after the exam and said your hurting and spasming now I replied yes. That' when she told me they couldn't help me and to go home and do yoga. She even made a comment that she bet I have trouble in my marriage due to my condition. I left the office in very bad pain, helpless and depressed after how she treated me. The rest of the staff is great.

I took my teenage daughter to her first gyno app to get on birth control due to horrific cramps and more. She was confusing, hard to understand, kept interrupting her and I. We couldn't get a word in edge wise!!!!!! My daughter was so upset the rest of the day and so was I. Later we got home and read the reviews and side effects and it sounds like a nightmare and she didn't discuss any of these!!!!! The only thing she for some reason went into detail that she should be on a vegan and organic diet! I have no idea why because my daughter doesn't have weight issues and that is not why we were seeing her! It's a day after her appointment and she is still so upset and confused that she asked to seek a second opinion!!! Not how a young woman's first experience should be at all!!!!

I'm writing as many reviews out there so people will know Dr. Rao is a warm, kind and compassionate Doctor. She listens to you and don't feel rushed. Dr. Rao is an awesome Surgeon who is confident, professional and cares about her patients. You can tell she's very passionate about her work. She performed a hysterectomy, Burch Bladder procedure and Prolapse Surgery. Dr. Rao's Nurse Jennifer is kind with a great sense of humor and cares about her patients as well. They make a great team! At Eagles Landing OB/GYN you will feel comfortable and welcome with a short wait time.

I was referred to several OB-Gyn offices in the area and chose this office randomly, mainly because it was close to my house. Going for a mammogram or other services at an OB-Gyn is never pleasant but I must say from the girls at the front desk to the mammogram technician and the ultra sound technician, the entire visit was professional and comfortable as it could be. They certainly make an uncomfortable situation bearable and for that I thank them. Dr Rao is wonderful, intelligent and caring. She took her time and it felt completely at ease to ask her any questions. I have definitely found my new office for subsequent visits.

I have been going to Dr. Rao for years. She did my essure procedure. I will always go to her!! Brandy is also great!
