Dr. Shobha Sikka, MD

I found both Dr. Sikka and her physician's assistant, Keri, professional, knowledgeable and caring about gynecological issues. While at the office seeing the physicians assistant my blood pressure was very high. Keri waited with me after hours for an hour while she monitored my blood pressure and waited for me to call my primary care physician. She was very concerned, kind and caring.

This is probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a practice. The office is incredibly disorganized and this affected my medical treatment. I was forced to cancel a procedure after calling the office over ten times in the course of a week. These calls were to schedule a pre procedure test and ask a few questions. The person who answers the phone is simply a scheduler and does cannot transfer you to a nurse or answer any questions. There is no way to leave messages with the nurses because they don't have a direct line for some reason. The week before my procedure I called to ask a clarifying question about a test they were going to run. The person who answers the phone told me someone would return my call. No one did. I called the next day attempting to cancel the procedure because I did not feel comfortable going through with it at this practice. If they aren't able/willing to follow up with me about a question they would likely not communicate with me if I had an… issue after the procedure. Eventually a nurse called me back and told me she would send my pre procedure test to Lab Corp, so I didn't have to go in that day. She also told me that she would send me a link to the patient portal. The office did not send the test to Lab Corp and did not send me a link to the patient portal. At this point I decided not to give them another chance because I had wasted a significant amount of time trying to communicate with them. I cancelled the appointment and the office asked me to call them back later that day. When I called, they put the doctor on the phone who had no idea what was going on. I tried to explain the situation to her. She didn't seem to pay attention to what I was saying and when I reiterated that I wanted to cancel the appointment she abruptly hung up on me. I was a patient of the practice for 9 months and didn't have any issues with the doctor herself. But, she does seem a bit distracted during visits. I personally don't think it is worth dealing with the office.

Best gynecologist I have seen. Solved my problem. Good bedside manner. Caring and nice.
