Dr. Showieb Ahmad Shuja, MD

Aside from his demeaning remarks and abrupt behavior. He lied to us which resulted in leaving with a double dosage that has a potential of birth defects. He said he verified with a pharmacist at another agency that this dosage would be appropriate. That same agency reached out to us and said to stop taking immediately and corrected the dose as well as they have no record or him reaching out to them. It’s very unfortunate to have a doctor like him walking around. Do yourself and the welfare of your child a favor and go elsewhere. He may do good for some but this is the reality for others that have the misfortune of his “care”.

Not pregnant but I've been seeing him for years and Dr. Shuja has always answered questions and asked about concerns. He explains everything in derail and calls personally with anything where I may need follow up. Recommended!

I was 38 weeks pregnant and having some heavy blessing with clots. When I expressed my concern to this doctor, he dismissed them and refused to look at the pictures I had specifically made for this appointment, explaining that some bleeding is normal. I told him it’s not “some bleeding”, but a lot of it, but again he seemed unconcerned. That night, after almost losing my mind over this heavy bleeding, I called their emergency like and was told to go to Labor and Delivery. Tests were run and I was induced that same day because they suspected placental separation. My baby could have died because of this doctor’s negligence!

I met Dr. Shuja while trying to meet all 7 doctors in his practice during my high risk, twin pregnancy. I explained how I really wanted to try for a vaginal delivery and even got the courage to ask about his take on me having music, aromatherapy, extended cord cutting, minimal pain relief, etc. Instead of shooting everything down and telling me a c-section was my only option, he explained all available options I had, which doctors in the practice may be more open to my ideas than others, and what he was comfortable with...which was most of it. He seemed very confident in his abilities and I really felt like I could trust him and his judgement. When talking about an upcoming induction, I informed him of my desire to induce as late as possible to allow time for labor to start naturally. He agreed! TTHEN HE BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER...he called me PERSONALLY about 4 hours after my appointment to help me schedule my induction around the only 2 doctors that would even attempt a vaginal… delivery! He looked over the schedule, just for me, and then personally called me! Very rare to see that level of patient care these days. Truly an exceptional doctor!

I had never visited Dr. Shuja before, but he took the time to clearly explain the medical condition I was dealing with, answer all of my questions, and explain the various treatments available. I decided to have surgery because of the pain/condition and felt 100% confident in Dr. Shuja. He not only did a perfect job on the surgery, but he was available anytime I needed him through his personal number in case anything was concerning me. He is the type of person you can trust and has a great sense of humor. I am extremely thankful to him and his staff, and highly recommend him to anyone that needs basic care or for more serious conditions.
