Dr. Shreya Maniar Nagula, MD

I was a patient of this doctor for about 3 years. Unfortunately after one of our zoom meetings (that I had paid out of pocket for) to prescribe my meds, this doctor had never called my meds in to be picked up and had completely stopped answering me all together. To make anyone feel unworthy of being cared for is extremely unprofessional as a psychiatrist. Not to mention leaving medicated (proscribed by her) patients with an open ended care plan is extremely dangerous. What she has done is robbery and degrading, taking money from someone who is physiologically ill. I’m in disbelief by her actions as a professional, certified doctor

Please avoid visiting her with your child. In my experience, she has been one of the worst doctors I’ve encountered—lacking empathy, inattentive, and more focused on her phone than on listening to concerns. Her approach feels more like punishment than compassionate care, especially when it comes to children. If admitted to WMC as an inpatient, it can also be difficult to change doctors once assigned to her, so I strongly recommend requesting a different psychiatrist instead.

We've seen a few different psychiatrists here in Long Island, kept moving on because none seem to actually want to listen to their patients. And then we visited Dr. Nagula. I can honestly say that we haven't met another physician that genuinely seems to care about her patients and spends such extensive time with them. Dr. Nagula actually took her time to see how to treat my daughter, to see if meds are even appropriate. She doesn't just eyeball a kid and throw something their way. My teenager loves her, and how many parents can say their kid WANTS to go and see their doctor?! She's a truly remarkable psychiatrist that has made a positive impact for our whole family, not just for my child!
