Dr. Shu Ying Turng, MD

She was my girls’ doctor until they aged out. My oldest now has a child of her own asked me today if Dr. Turng still practices because she’d love for her to be her daughter’s pediatrician. People say she’s mean - but she’s really not. She’s stern and no nonsense. We loved her and she always treated my kids with love, care and adoration. We would see her jogging around the area as they grew up and she was always as elated to see us as we were to see her! She’s a jewel.

Dr. Turng treated my 2 year old daughter after she a fell out of a chair and injured herself. She was bleeding profusely and I was in a major panic. I don't even remember where she was injured, just that it was either her eye or her mouth. I was living in Dallas Oak Cliff section temporarily with my brother and sister in law. I was estranged from my husband and had no job or money. I ran to her office not even thinking. She treated my daughter without charge. I don't remember much else about the visit and never got the chance to thank Dr. Turng. I fondly remember her compassion and generosity and will never forget it. This was in 1982 and my daughter is now almost 39 with two little girls of her own. I frequently think about Dr. Turng and hope that she is well.

She is rude! And mean! She yelled at me for not having shot records on hand (already faxed the request to my kids old dr to have them sent to her. They arrived 15 minutes late and that was a reason to get yelled at apparently) she yelled at my 3 year old for walking around the room to get a children’s book to read. Then she slapped his leg hard several times to the point my son yelled at her to stop hitting him. She gave him 3 shots so hard his leg is now bruised! Then to top it off when he cried from the pain, she threatened to give him more shots if he doesn’t stop crying! I will NEVER go back and I am filing a complaint to the medical board

I truly don't know how people take their children to this doctor. First of all she is so rude and disrespectful to parents and children. To my experiences taking my grand child to her she is definitely mean. She has no compassion or patience with children. My grand child has been going to her for two years but after taking my grand child for a flu shot and the way she gave it actually showed me this woman (not doctor) is dangerous to children. She deliberately with forced stuck my grand child with the needle that had blood running down his arm because he was scared and crying. Afterward, told me to leave because he was crying. We were the only people in her office or let me make it clear in her bldg other than her staff. She is outdated with equipment and use broken equipment for treatment. Once l asked her staff to make a copy and faxed a form to my grand child school nurse she told me no. She is absolutely stereo type with race. According to her children should have the… mentality of an adult. Don't move, don't cry, don't talk in other word be a mannequin. Not a robot because they move and makes sound. She needs to be reported to the medical board. This was my last visit taking my grand child. Maybe previously years she was better however, l been going for two years. In those two years l was never satisfied and have been searching for a new doctor that either was accepting new patients or the insurance l have. Until then, my grand child will go children medical where love, compassion and updated equipment and knowledge are welcomed!

I chose Dr Turng because of her bedside manner I observed as a post-partum nurse in a hospital. She genuinely cares for her patients and takes time to explain things so that parents understand. Not only do my children see her but also my neice, nephrew, and god-children. WE LOVE HER!!

She's been seeing both my children one since she was born, the other since she was 2. She is the best doctor around. I just love her.

Dr Turng was my 2 sons Doctor 35 years ago. She saved ones life with meningitis diagnosis at 3 weeks old. She held my hand after the oldest was struck by a car at 5. She taught me how to navigate being a scared young mom, and mothered me while treating my boys. So nice to see she is still practicing and receiving glowing reviews. I love this doctor.

Dr.Turng has treated my 3 older son's and now she my 3 younger children doctors. I love DR.Turng I have a set of twins and one is artic and Dr.Turng picked up on it when he was a new born. I have much respect for her Dr.Turng takes her time with each patient. If your looking for a doctor to just take your child health for granted then she not the doctor to come to. If you want a doctor that will explain your child needs to you and will verify everything that she stated you to just to make sure you don't have any questions this Dr.Turng is the doctor that you want taken care of your child. We love you Dr. Turng

Her diagnosis was correct, and she saved me years of heart ache, because previously for 6 years I didn't know my son's illness and he had some near fatal experiences. But Dr. Turng ran some tests and gave me the proper diagnoses. Before I had been to countless dr's and hospitals and children's included for years, not one could diagnose my son but she did. She has been in the business for year's and is very good at what she does. I thank God first and Dr. Turng

Dr. Turng is very upfront and honest to her patients. If you are looking for a doctor that is just trying to be nice and give you some medicine and sends you home, then i woudnt go to Dr. Turng. She is very smart and wants the best for you. The staff is very helpful and nice. Never had any problems at this office. I wouldnt go to another doctor. She is the best i have been to and will not let my kids seen by anyone else. Love her!
