Dr. Shulamit Sharon Glaubach, MD

I have so many good things to say about Shulamit Glaubach, MD. She understood my sons pain and our pain as parents seeing our son so distressed. Dr. Glaubach was thorough; she reviewed his birth records, pediatric records, and contacted all prior treaters. She realized that his prior therapist had not addressed the pain and anxiety he was feeling as a result of my breast cancer. Being away from me triggered intense, uncontrollable, incapacitating anxiety for my son. He subsequently began to cut. It was at that point that we began to take in what Dr Glaubach was saying with regard to intensive treatment (multiple sessions per week) . She was very responsive to us throughout his treatment. She worked with us as to how best to help our son by our interactions and limit setting but also with medication. The medication was needed during the most acute state of his illness. After a long process of intensive treatment my son had one of the highest grades in high school. In addition,… he was very social and liked by his peers whereever he was. My son is now in college and doing very well. Thank you so much Dr. Glaubach for helping our son and us as well.

We were directed to Dr Glaubach after a hairraising experience with another psychiatrist who wanted to put our 17 year old daughter on Lithium after seeing her 1 time for less than an hour. Yes Dr Glaubach required we, the parents see her twice and our daughter to see her 7 times. At that time she laid out a care plan for our daughter to see her 2 times a week. Our insurance only covered a small portion of this cost so we explained the situation and hoped she could reccommend someone within our ability to pay. She did better than that, she worked with us and charged only what we could pay! We know our daughter received the help she needed. She graduated from high school and went out of state to college. When Dr Glaubach moved from Seattle she put our daughter in touch with another excellent practitioner in Seattle. We are forever thankful for Dr Glaubach's professional expertise.

When we moved across country my sons did not transition well. One of my sons was being bullied at school and he became depressed and threatened suicide. I talked to his counselor several times at the school but he did nothing about it. I was terrified so I sought help. Dr. Glaubach was amazing! Through playing games, she built-up his self esteem and confidence. I love her gentle nature. I had regular meetings with her to discuss my sons progress and she answered my questions and gave me ideas. She discussed possible medications that might help with his depression and the risks and benefits of those medications. When I choose not to medicate, she was okay with that. Today he's healthy and very happy. Thank you Dr. Glaubach!

Dr. Glaubach was very professional and offered excellent advice concerning my son's depression. I usually think psychiatrists are strange and distant but she was kind and down to earth. So the intelligence and bedside manner were a rare combination.

Dr Glaubach saw our son for over a year. He was in his last few years of high school and was not performing well in school. Our son liked Dr. Glaubach and responded to her. She suggested several non-drug therapies that helped our son. He is now a happy 23 year old out supporting himself and in a healthy relationship with a nice young woman. Thanks Dr. Glaubach!

We had no experience with parenthood or therapy when we became guardians to our teenage niece. After networking with anyone who would speak to me, I found Dr. Glaubach in her San Francisco office. She was recommended for her experience with children who have been abused, abandoned, grief stricken. She is one of the most brilliant persons I have encountered. I feel it was a miracle we were put in touch with her. She wanted to find the best living situation for our niece, taught us how to set the boundaries necessary in order for her to succeed. She strongly recommended seeing our niece a minimum of twice a week in order to make necessary progress, and we saw her once a month - this was over a period of a year. She was flexible with our schedules, and accommodated with telephone sessions when we were traveling. In emergencies she was available as soon as she received the message. She demanded a lot of hard work from us all and the payback was phenomenal. Our niece is now a… confident, successful young woman now with a bright future ahead of her. I will always be grateful for the guidance we received from Dr. Glaubach and if needed, will seek her help again.

Dr Glaubach is beyond wonderful. She is the only doctor that was able to help my child after more than 10 years of too many unanswered questions and more medications than I could ever name.I am so thankful to Dr Glaubach for literally saving my beautiful daughters life.

I am a 31 year old professional woman that saw Dr. Glaubach over the course of several months, multiple times a week. My interactions with her overall were very positive; she helped me through many difficult and trying issues that I was experiencing. She also respected my desire to stay away from certain medications, and helped me to seek alternative solutions to quell my severe panic and anxiety. She is a good listener, something that, in my opinion, is essential in a good therapist. Furthermore, she emphasizes seeing her patients multiple times a week, which, in certain situations, is incredibly helpful. When I moved to another state, Dr. Glaubach helped me to find another therapist. As an added convenience, she is relatively flexible when it comes to scheduling, which helps when trying to balance weekly therapy sessions with an already hectic schedule.

My son was a patient of Dr. Glaubachs for several months.When you first meet her she makes you sign a contract that you will go to her at least three times a week , give two weeks notice before you leave or you will be charged for appointments for those two weeks, and that you will pay out of pocket for anything insurance does not cover.She also over charged us by $20. on our co-pay for every visit I later found out from my insurance company!My son mentioned her falling asleep in session. She was short with my husband and I and really made us feel like she is beyond your questioning. We counted on her to put together a report for my sons needed assistance at school which she did not produced in time for our school district meeting. Turned out she was not willing to give it to us until the check for it was in her hand. This was an incredibly stressful time in our life and I felt like it was all about the money to her.

My daughter was a patient of Dr. Glaubach's. We were never very impressed. Her first question was usually asking for a check for the visit. She is very brash and does not have a bedside manner. She misdiagnosed my daughter which I felt had an impact from there on. Lesson learned, ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion. Not a reflection on the physician, but just to get a different perspective.She fell asleep twice when I was in the room for the last part of visits. My daughter stated she would nod off during visits when they were talking of playing games.Finding child psychiatrists was and is still difficult. We were lucky to have found someone with a totally different approach. That's what I find is key - if you don't get along, don't like the physician, don't stick with them as it doesn't work.I am not surprised to see her out of the Seattle area. She was always busy, changing appointments, had you waiting, but if you had HER waiting five minutes it was a big inconvenience. My attitude,… I'm a professional too, my time is just as important as yours. I start sending them a bill when I sit there and wait for a half hour.I never saw my child so relieved then to not have to go anymore. She's the type of psychiatrist that wants a child to come 3 times a week. That's impossible - like I have 10 trust funds to pay for my work, pay for her sleeping on the job, and stay alive. It about ran us all into the group when we finally put a stop to it. I felt we came out of it worse than we went in.
