Dr. Shumaila I Khan

I have been seeing Dr Khan for a little over a year now. She is professional, caring and mindful of all aspects of your situation. She has significantly improved my quality of life and am grateful for such a great doctor and team behind her.

Dr. Khan was condescending, unknowledgeable, and rude. Before I had gotten through half of my symptoms and my reason for concern, she interrupted me and told me it sounded like I have an anxiety disorder. I have severe food intolerances and haven't been able to eat in days. I do not have an anxiety disorder. She didn't know anything outside of IgE allergies and kept lecturing me on what anaphylaxis looks like, which I didn't claim to have. Her scope of knowledge is extremely limited, and since my symptoms didn't fall within it, she resorted to gaslighting me and insisting that I have an eating disorder. I asked for blood testing and she complained about how she didn't know how she was going to be able to justify the test orders in her notes. I also have reactive hypoglycemia so being unable to eat is life threatening for me. When I told her this, she said "You have hypoglycemia because you fast." I have hypoglycemia because of a secondary adrenal insufficiency. She didn't know what… this was and kept harping on her supposition that I have an eating disorder. I am suffering immensely and the best she could do was gaslight me and talk to me like I'm a child who doesn't know what a peanut allergy is.

She is an excellent doctor.
