Dr. Siddharth Tambar, MD

Dr. Tambar saved me from having to have knee surgery in my 30’s. He was so helpful and reassuring through the whole process. The nurses there are also so nice and make everything so easy. The one thing I’d say is getting a hold of someone for an appointment. I have called many times for a follow up appointment (after 8 great years!) and haven’t heard back.

Dr. Tambar spent a lot of time doing my treatment, he spent the time to do it right. Very gentle with very little pain. Much better than other provides I used in the past. Top notch!

I have several long standing autoimmune diseases that have been pretty consistent over the years. However, new symptoms sprung up in the past 3 years, and I had already gone to a couple of rheumatologists for opinions. Then I saw Dr. Tambar. He sent me to three specialists (GI, skin, radiology) none of which helped or had anything to say to me regarding my condition. The equivalent of a shrug. It was expensive to go to these other doctors since they were out of my insurance network. Dr. Tambar also insisted on doing ultrasounds of my hand for inflammation despite the fact that I didn't have problems in that hand for over a year. The ultrasound confirmed this every time. My description of how my hand feels didn't count as evidence enough, and I was paying for each ultrasound, which seemed unnecessary. All of these tests seemed to be missing the point. He is careful and very conservative with diagnosis, which I appreciate, yet he is not very curious. My descriptions were second-guessed,… and I felt lost and afraid as my condition was getting worse. Since then, I went to another rheumatologist, and the difference is striking. The new doctor got only the necessary tests done to rule out specific illnesses, asked very pointed and very specific detailed questions that I never got asked before, didn't order expensive tests or send me to specialists unless they were absolutely critical to diagnosis, sent my blood to a specialized lab, and was a lot less ambiguous about the diagnosis possibilities, monitoring, and next steps. With the new doctor I feel much more clear on what is going on and how to proceed.

I have called at least four times in the past week, but no one ever picks up the phone. After going through the whole litany of options, I am sent to messaging and asked to leave a message, which I do. I have thus far received no call-back.

My visit went very well. Leah did a comprehensive review of my current medical status, including my most recent surgery. We also reviewed my bloodwork and my uric acid level was very good. She then examined me and all was well. We made an appointment to come back in six months.

Dr. Tambar’s assistant Leah was fabulous and very thorough. That said, Dr. Tambar spent almost no time with me, relied on her assessment and said, get X-rays. Why don’t you pay her your salary. Following the request for X-rays - your office said “come for a review consultation in 2 weeks to review the results” when they were all negative. You obviously do not value my time

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! If you are genuinely concerned about blood test results showing abnormal RNA/ANA tests. PLEASE DON'T GO SEE THIS CHILD OF A "DOCTOR". DR. TAMBAR GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!! To be fully honest Siddharth Tambar, don't feel comfortable calling him a doctor, is just another IL based doctor that is so scared of malpractice that he plays the "fun" game of passing the buck and sending you to another specialist that will do the same thing and end up in a endless loop with never getting any diagnosis or advice. There is a serious problem with our medical system in this State and "Dr's" like this young man is only making it worse. If you have a Autoimmune or Connective Tissue disorder/disease PLEASE find someone that actually DOES their job!
