Dr. Sidney Stuart Braman, MD

I am 76 years old and smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day for 53 years. My emphysema is serious. I've been rushed to the hospital twice, each time spending 2 or 2 1/2 days in ICU, then a week or more in step down. I've seen 3 of the so-called top pulmonologists in New York and none of them has helped me more than Dr. Braman. He is attentive. He listens. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and up-to-date and makes sure his patients have everything they need to keep them out of the hospital. He is also responsive when you contact him on MyChart. I travel quite a ways to see him and consider the trip well worth while.

Dr. Braman is awesome and I'm sorry he left Rhode Island and RI Hospital. I will miss him.

Dealing with the end-stages of lung disease is horrible. The worst part is the doctors in the hospital will act like they're inconvenienced by the person and their family. Dr. Braman treats EVERY patient as if they have 50 years left. He LISTENS to the patient when they say something is wrong and doesn't just say, "COPD is a progressive disease. This is to be expected." He has saved my family a lot of aggravation and given my father his dignity back. Thank you for being you, Dr. Braman. :)

Dr. Braman is absolutely phenomenal. He cares not only for his patients, but for their families, as well. His skills are unmatched, his caring unequaled - I have no idea what my family would have done without him over the last 18 years he has been treating my father.
