On time. Very efficient office. Listened and explained well. Understood patients needs.

Need a Zero Star option. He failed at the fundamentals of medicine: "Always treat the patient, not the test results". I did my own research after the worst medical appt. in my long life and found the treatment for two mTBI's sustained in 4 months. He told me I was fine and he didn't know why I had symptoms because my test results were fine, and it didn't have anything to do with the mTBI's. I had no symptoms before two hits to my head including dizziness, headaches, light and noise sensitivity. He begrudgingly did a quick exam after I became visibly upset with him during the appt. Since Presby. has not done the right thing (after 1 year of grievances and appeals) and I had to pay the large bill I'm posting this, hoping it will help someone else avoid this MD if you have a concussion. Go get HBOT treatment (#1 treatment for concussions), make sure there are not crystals misplaced in the ear , check eye tracking.

Exactly one year ago I went for my first ever appointment with Dr. Sigmund G. Jenssen. He was 45 minutes late for my appointment. When he came into the exam room, he apologized and said that he had had an emergency to deal with. I was angry and skeptical at the time but I accepted his apology and we proceeded with my examination. Today, exactly one year later, I arrived at 8:00 am--more than one half hour early for my 8:40 am appt. I successfully checked in with the hospital business desk and sat down to wait in the waiting room. Soon, I was ushered into an exam room by a nurse (?) at 8:30am. At 8:40 am I overheard him say "Hello, how have you been?" to the patient in the room adjoining mine. I could tell that he was just starting that exam and that it would be approx. 45 minutes for him to get to me--assuming that I was next. I waited for him for over half an hour. Disappointed and so-over this unprofessional conduct, I gathered by belongings and left. I believe that… Dr. Jenssen gets to work late everyday and visits his first client about 30-45 minutes later than scheduled. This pushes out every other appointment for the day. It has happened to me twice--exactly one year apart! I left a poor review for him after my first visit. This is my second review. I won't see him again.

It was suggested that I may have Parkinson’s so I went to see him. He said that I don’t but wouldn’t tell me how he came to that conclusion. No MRI. Treated me like I was stupid. Find someone else, I’m going to Denver.

I have facial twitching and it is very uncontrollable and extremely embarrassing. It started early 2014. Dr. Sigmund Jenssen is the fifth Neurologist I have seen. Dr. S. Jenssen is the only Neurologist that took the time to really try to help me find an answer. The first Neurologist referred me to get two MRI, and CT scan, and ultrasound, and an EEG, nothing showed up as to why I was twitching so his quick fix was Botox treatment. The other three spent less than fifteen minutes with me and referred me to Botox treatments. Dr. Jenssen had the highest ratings in New Mexico I was hesitant to go but wanted to give it one more go! He was located in Santa Fe, I live in Albuquerque. It was totally worth the drive. He is taking the time to look into reasons why I have this medical conditions and called me personally to let me know he has ordered an Ambulatory EEG and taking other measures to figure out what is going on with me. I hope my review is being read by those tons of people I… seen and meet at Eye Associates that were waiting in line like cattle for Botox injections for twitching issues. I received Botox treatments for three years ….huge mistake, all it was doing was masking the real problem. I am not saying my rout is for everyone but the cost of each treatment (co-pay) is the less then the alternative of having half your face droop or paralyzed. I am on FB and I can tell you Dr. Jenssen may not have all the answers but he is defiantly a Dr. that will give it his all. I can also share info that has helped me find relief, I’m not cured but any kind of relief is a blessing. Dr. Jenssen is an amazing Neurologist!! That truly cares, and you’re not just a number to him. Trust me he is worth the drive!

My husband was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's disease for many years. After a 2 hour extensive visit and exam by Dr Jenssen it was determined that the diagnosis is Lewy Body Dementia. Changes in medications have made a positive difference. Dr Jenssen is compassionate, careful, thorough and kind. Highly recommend this fine gentleman. Sally Sharkey. Santa Fe NM
