Dr. Silky Sharma, MD

I was hospitalized at Princeton Penn Medicine for a condition that had become critical. Having struggled with this condition for a number of years, I have been hospitalized many times. Typically I am admitted and discharged over a 48-72hr period. Dr Sharma entered my room, asked cursory questions and announced I was being discharged that afternoon. This is within 24hrs of being admitted and was being treated at that very moment. At the time, I was still a fall risk and unable to leave the bed unattended or use the restroom without support of a nurse. The treatment I received at Dr Sharma’s hands was so far from ethical, compassionate care that I have every reason to believe she would have rolled me out the door and into the street if not for the hospital gown I was still wearing. I have the distinct impression this treatment of me is due to my lack of private insurance. I would hate to think the reasons are more sinister. I’m both appalled and saddened by the treatment I received in… this brand new, state-of-the-art hospital that I have heard such good things about. I hope the hospital looks into this.

Did not listen; exam not thorough--lacked warmth, distant. Would not recommend!
