Silvana Padmanabhan

A major approach to therapy that I utilize is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As part of cognitive behavioral therapy, I help individuals understand the connection between thoughts/emotions/behaviors and how shifts in one aspect leads to shifts in another aspect. Unfortunately, we are not taught how to deal with difficult emotions and stressors in life, but through psychotherapy I can help you maneuver these and help you learn coping skills to manage these. I can also help you to feel empowered to live the life you were meant to live by utilizing CBT and other therapy modalities as needed.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Science in Social Work. I was employed at the Department of Veterans Affairs for over 12 years. I served as a psychotherapist in several Behavioral Health Programs while employed there. I was also employed at a psychiatric hospital for a number of years prior to working at the Department of Veterans Affairs. I was licensed as …an LMSW in 2003 and became an LCSW in 2008. Currently I am also licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor.

I specialize in working with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships issues, career changes, transitions, grief and loss, and adjustment disorders.

I am also a bilingual therapist and provide psychotherapy in Spanish as well.
