Sima Rafati, DDS, MS
Dr. Sima Rafati received her bachelor degree of arts with honors and distinction majoring in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989.
She graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Dental School and was elected to the dental honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon in 1994. During her dental training, Dr. Rafati was involved in teaching and research and received Martin Scholarship and California Dental Association Scholarship for her outstanding academic performance and abilities.
Dr. Sima Rafati completed her orthodontic training at UCSF in 1997. She was the only one among the 80 students in her dental school to be accepted as one of only six residents in UCSF post-doctoral orthodontic program. Dr. Rafati also completed a master’s degree in oral biology in 1997 at UCSF. She has received the award for exceptional interest in the development of Oro-facial complex from the American Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Rafati …began practicing orthodontics in San Jose in 1997. In addition to treating children and adolescents, Dr. Rafati acquired extensive experience in multi-disciplinary adult orthodontic treatment working in concert with other dental specialists. In 2007 she began her own practice in San Jose. Building on her strong background and incorporating state of the art technology, she has created a comfortable and efficient environment providing extraordinary service and quality of care.
Dr. Rafati joined Align Technology at its conception as a staff orthodontist and has been treating cases with Invisalign® appliance since 2001. As an Assistant Clinical Professor, Dr. Rafati has taught clinical orthodontics, and orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning at UCSF.
Dr. Rafati is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, California State Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Santa Clara County Dental Society.
Dr. Rafati is a mother of two beautiful children and loves outdoor activities with her family.
