Dr. Simon K Chan, DO

Dr. Chan has been my primary physician for at least 12 years. He's very honest and caring as well as thorough and highly educated. His approach is very "East meets West" and more holistic than most. He tries very hard to help you find alternative solutions besides just pills and sending you off for surgery. Dr. Chan was also in the Naval Reserve and has served our country for most of his career, as if being a physician wasn't taxing enough! I've sent many family members and friends to him over the years and everyone has really liked him too. He's fantastic and I consider myself lucky to have found him and to have had his care for all of these years. Office staff there is awesome too and they are great at what they do!

My first appointment with Dr. Chan was different. He was very professional but didn't appear to be very sociable. I had read some previous reviews that weren't positive, but I liked the idea that he specializes in arthritic issues. The second time I had to come in for some tests, I have to say, it was really a great appointment. I learned a lot about him and his military career. He was very thorough and made some good recommendations on improving health. He's straight forward and to the point and that is really what works for me.

learn how to talk to people! that was by far the worst doctors appointment that i ever had! pacific medical group in north portland by far has the worst service i have ever experienced. incompetent, no matter who you talk to!

Dr. Chan did a follow-up with me after another doctor at Pacific had misdiagnosed me. He was fine but they forgot to call in my prescription and I had to wait over the weekend to get the meds I needed. Won't be going back.

I saw Dr Chan a few years ago and think very highly of him. My insurance changed so I had to get a different doctor. Our insurance recently changed again and he is on the list of providers, so I'm taking my family back to him. He's honest and tells people what they need to hear (and heed). We need more people like that!

He never remembered who I was, never knew why I was there, and always seemed rushed and like he didn't really care. Communication skills at Pacific Medical Group is terrible. They can't get straight what medications I'm on, and they tell me that they'll send out my results, but I never receive them. I'm not a complainer by nature, but I really recommend you stay away!
