Dr. Simone Thavaseelan, MD

Doctor Thavaseelan had an opening, so I went to her to get a more complete look at kidney stones that were found in imaging after I gave birth. She was very curt, short, and did not make much eye contact. She pretty much had like one foot out the door the entire visit. Thank God the nurse/assistant was there because she made me feel at ease for the procedure and talked to me before and after about what to expect as I can faint during medical procedures from anxiety. Dr. Thavaseelan spoke to me about my results with lots of medical jargon and very quickly. I asked her some questions about what different terms meant and what the best/worst case scenarios were for pain/the size of my kidney stones as I had passed one before and it was terrible. She simply stated "It will not be without pain, and you may not need medical intervention." Then she knocked on wood! I asked her like what the medical intervention would be for, since I know nothing about this stuff and she was just annoyed with… my questions. I have not had any issues since I had the appointment, but it was not a positive experience and I did not feel confident knowing what was going on with my body when I left there!

doctor treated me as though she couldn't be bothered, uncaring, didn't explain all options did not inform me of other options that were available. didn't even do certain tests that are necessary to determine my diagnosis. implied i shouldn't re-ask a questions made to feel i was insignificant in my attempt to help myself. went up to mass. general brigham hosp. had a corrective procedure on 2nd visit and no longer have a problem . bottom line don't know if others had this happen to them but i have & it's not what anyone should experience cannot believe this person was a able physician allowed to practice.

I went to see her twice it was the worst visits I ever had. She's very painful and does not care about going into the operating room she does all her procedures in her office while you are awake I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. She has no compassion what so ever.

I have been through 3 kidney stone issues and all have been flawless with no issues causing incontinence with my bladder nor much pain while the stents were in place (I have 2 put in, 1 when admitted and one after its treated/removed) until now. I feel this Dr wasnt gentle nor gave consideration to what issues I would have after. She just expected me to lose control of my bladder after discharge from the hospital due to the roughness she applied during surgery. The surgery went much faster than normal and I know know why. In defense to the Dr., she does specialize in men with issues and SOMETIMES women. I wish I knew this before I consented to let her take my case. I usually see Dr. Author Wong and I LOVE him. Not one issue at all and didnt even need to take pain control (while stent was in) other than OTC stuff. I highly recommend Dr.Wong. Not this Dr
