Dr. Siobhan M Dunnavant, MD

I have seen Dr. Dunnavant GYN care and then recently for prenatal/OB care. My GYN care was easy in and out, no issues or concerns - no complaints about Dr. Dunnavant in that area, as she is very straightforward and to the point. With regard to prenatal/OB care - I would have to say it has been the exact opposite; she is very short, her time with patients seems VERY rushed (she is in and out without answering all questions or tending to all patient's needs). I work in the medical field and understand how demanding a physician's time is during the day and the way I was treated in her office, was as though I was just another chart number in her practice, when the experience (especially prenatal/OB) should be very in depth, thorough and compassionate. I had a reaction to a type of agent that was used during a procedure and her response was "oh cool" (verbatim) when I showed her how my body reacted to the medicine. Her responses to my multiple concerns over time have been very passive and… dismissive.

Dr Dunnavant is one of the best OBGYN I have ever seen. She is extremely sensitive and yet efficient. I trust her immensely. I recommend her highly to any woman who wants sensitive accurate and efficient evaluations.

First visit I was in love and could not wait to carry on my pregnancy with Dr. Dunnavant. Then subsequent visits proved rushed. When I presented with pre-eclampsia, she missed it. Luckily another doctor--a GP!--caught it. I will be changing practices.

Dr. Dunnavant is a very special person. She takes time and Is a caring and knowledgable physician! Dr. D and Crytal were so kind and patient with me during my lose! I feel grateful I found her and pray one day she will deliver a healthy and precious gift of a baby for me soon!! Thank you both!!

Dr Dunnavant was so patient and helped me so much. I had had years of problems that had been dismissed by my other doctor and she took the time to work through them with me. I feel so much better She is wonderful.

She is always in a hurry and dismissive. When I had questions, she said she was the one asking the questions and basically she answered them for me. Example: How is your sex life? Good when you get around to it. I tried to explain the symptoms that I was experiencing. She told me I was consitpated. When I told her that wasn't is, she insisted it was. After becoming very sick for 6 months, another doctor diagnosed my "female" problem and I had to have major surgery. I think the only one the is constipated is Dr. Dunnavant.

I go back and forth about my experience with this doctor. I always have to wait a very long time to see her, and she is always in a hurry. Obviously, this is not comforting. I am also upset because she seems to take everything very lightly and if I don't remind her of certain prescriptions,etc., she forgets. She is also very quick to explain anything, and in the last visit, she did not tell me of the potential risks for the surgery for which she scheduled me. I am thinking of getting a second opinion. I trust that she is competent, but she is too quick and too aggressive.

She is a very caring doctor. Spends as much time as possible to ease your fears. Even though some times you have to wait she is worth it because when she walks in the door you know that the only thing she cares about at that point is you (and your baby).

WONDERFUL Doctor --- Courteous, understanding and spent all the time I needed...I didn't feel like she was rushed to get to the next patient!

Very abrupt and replied in an extremely fast and dismissive manner regarding problems getting pregnant. She was dismissive to the point of rudeness and spoke in a robot-like manner that was insulting. I considered filing a formal complaint.
