Even before I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, I knew I wanted to work with children. Their strength, resilience and optimism are so inspiring. As pediatricians, we are blessed with the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with our patients and play a small role in guiding them from infancy into adulthood. In my opinion, there is no career more rewarding.

My approach to providing care is simple: I treat my patients with the same dedication I would if I were treating my own child. I believe compassion, mutual respect, honesty and integrity are key. I want to be an advocate for my patients and their families and be dedicated to continuously improving my own knowledge and abilities.

In medicine, and especially in pediatrics, a sense of trust between patients, families and doctors is crucial. The ability to listen to patients’ concerns and see how their health connects with the rest of their lives helps me treat the patient individually and holistically, …potentially solving and anticipating health concerns in a more comprehensive manner.

One of my biggest inspirations was my childhood pediatrician. Her ability to connect with her patients and families was incredible. Even at a young age I was able to see how much of an impact she had on her patients’ lives. My hope is that I have just as much of an influence on my own patients.
