Dr. Snehankita Adam Calarese, MD

I was treated by Dr. Calarese in 2025 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She implanted tissue expanders at the end of my double mastectomy first, and then months later, she handled my exchange surgery to implants (with fat grafting). Both surgeries went very smoothly and the results are beautiful. She has a wonderful reputation throughout MD Anderson (I had countless appointments with other specialties throughout and they all had wonderful things to say). It's true that she has an amazing personality and a sweet bedside manner. But, her surgical skills are exceptional, also. I'm so glad I chose her for my surgeries.

Dr. Calarese is a below average surgeon who is unwilling to fix or acknowledge her mistakes or poor aesthetic outcomes. I overlooked similar reviews when I chose her to be my surgeon. Do your research. There are many high quality plastic surgeons in the area and no reason to settle.

Dr. Calarese is very kindhearted but an average to below average surgeon. If you are looking for "A" work, find someone else. She performed breast reconstruction with fat grafting for me. We agreed on size of breasts and where fat grafting would take place. I was left with mangled thighs, breasts that were much larger than discussed, and she took fat from a part of my body I did not consent to.

Dr Calarese was wonderful to work with. Her staff were kind and helpful. Dr Calarese was very compassionate, highly intelligent and an excellent surgeon. I’m extremely happy with my reconstruction. I would not hesitate to recommend her to my family and friends.

Dr. Kulkarni is an amazing surgeon! I knew from my first consult that I could rest assured that she would take care of me. She is a caring, compassionate, intelligent, and inspiring professional. She loves what she does and does it extremely well! I am very pleased with my results from this journey and would recommend her over and over again!!

I was referred to this surgeon due becoming a breast cancer patient. The total visit was unpleasant. Just by her taking my pictures alone were:TURN! TURN!!! Turn!!!!. Then, she explained with a woman LIKE YOU! With a BMI THIS HIGH! is very very RARE. You will not heal properly! I normally don’t proform surgeon on a woman like you. (said 3rd time) with a woman like you with a BMI THIS HIGH!!. If I do proceed with this surgery I’ll be taking chances on how you will heal with your! Breast size. I’d asked “ so what is your average BMI patient? Her answer was” most definitely avg 30”. I’ve was diagnosed Stage 1 Breast cancer Sept 12 2018. I’ve never been sick in my life pass having the flu. I’m a hard working citizen Never! Had to have any kind of public assistance. I’ve raised a top 10 honor college student graduate alone! After my diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound biopsy, genetic testing, met my radiologist, 6 anesthesiologists, my surgeon, three surgeries, two follow-ups, 3 social… consultations, and all nurses, front desk reps and my navigator. I’ve never felt so much like a wasted piece of sh*t . Until I sat in front of this doctor. I felt like “ a rare case with a HIGH BMI, not worth having surgery”. I cried so hard and felt like giving up. I walked out her office, sat in the parking deck for two hours wondering am I’m worth continuing this cancer journey. I went home cried and prayed the rest of the night the strength to continue my pink journey. Just choose a different plastic surgeon.
