Dr. Socorro Gabriela Montes, MD

Socorro Gabriela Montes, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified podiatrist at Desert Foot and Ankle that has locations in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality foot and ankle care to her patients. Dr. Montes believes in a patient-centered approach that allows her patients to be active participants in their own treatments.Dr. Montes graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. She then completed a surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hines, Illinois.During her residency, Dr. Montes worked with orthopedics, infectious diseases, and vascular surgery teams, and in a Level 1 trauma center. This specific training allows her to take a multidisciplinary approach when caring …for patients with limb-threatening illnesses. Dr. Montes is proficient in various podiatric sub-specialties, including wound care, limb salvage, sports medicine, pediatrics, biomechanics, and elective and non-elective surgery. She values the importance of continuity when it comes to inpatient management and outpatient clinical care.Dr. Montes is a Certified Foot Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate of American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is a member of the Arizona Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association. She is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.Outside of her practice, Dr. Montes enjoys yoga, Pilates, hiking, salsa dancing, photography, concerts, traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her family.
