He spends less than 5 minutes with you, does not address concerns and just doles our medication. One of his secretaries is nasty with a condescending, rude tone of voice.

Don't ever see this doctor for any mental health problems. He's Bernie Madoff's client!!!!!

Dr. Cheema specializes in 2 things: sessions that last between 5 to 10 minutes and over-medication. That's not the way a psychiatrist should treat his patients. Is it any wonder that most patients don't go to his Westbury office anymore? What a shame! Sorry, Dr. Cheema. You've just lost another patient. Goodbye and goo luck.

My daughter was sent to Dr. Cheema for an evaluation. He was on his phone texting the entire time, only acknowledged her statements with an "uh-huh", barely looked at her, and without even getting a full history declared she needed medication for depression. Then he proceeded to insult her weight by saying he wouldn't put her on one medication because it can cause weight gain and "obviously you don't need that". Thank God my daughter was depressed and not suicidal. She had gone there for help on a recommendation from a school counselor and left there feeling far worse than when she entered. It took a lot for us to convince her to give the visit a try. For a young girl dealing with a new mood disorder while alone and away from home it was extremely traumatizing and confirmed all her preconceived notions about trusting in a psychiatrist. This man should not be practicing psychiatry, especially not with the adolescent population. He clearly has lost his motivation and compassion… to help people, if he ever had it in the first place. And by the way, her first appointment lasted all of approximately 15 minutes yet cost hundreds of dollars. Absolutely despicable! Find someone else, ANYONE else!

Dr. Cheema does not help clients, offers no real expertise, and merely collects insurance money. He has given my family member a prescription for the past 3 years without referring them to a therapist. He has no interest rehabilitating clients and is instead over-medicating. My family member has never had auditory hallucinations prior to being in Dr. Cheema's care and is now suffering from them daily. DO NOT see Dr. Cheema for any reason.

Does anyone even check to see if these reviews on google are “actual” patients of the doctor? (I use that word lightly) I actually had fun timing him when I went, most time spent with him was 3 mins, least 1 1/2 mins. He could care less how you are! The front desk, the girl with the blondish hair, one word for her nasty, I stopped talking to her when I went in. Never greeted you, so why walk up there if your not going to look up? I can wait for you to notice me sitting in the chair! I just found a new doctor who takes insurance and he spends 45 mins! Imagine that! I enjoyed canceling my appointment! She had the nerve to say have you been here before! lol I’m making a call and reporting him!

Spends marginal time with patient unwilling or unable to read patients history. No experience with returning military. Unwilling to accept professional advice. He is abusive and uncaring

She referred me to Dr. Sohail Cheema. A few days later I saw him and was in his office for no more than 5 minutes before he gave me a script for an anti-depressant. My experience with him has been a complete let- down and total waste of time. I have no respect for this practice and I recommend you go elsewhere.

Those reviews about him being caring are all LIES! Maybe something happened in his life from them and now that caused him to change but he is FAR FROM CARING. He spends NO TIME with the patients. He didn't listen to anything I had to say. It was the fastest appt in my entire life, he truly sucked! I will never return their again. He doesn't even smile or look up from his paper as he writes at all. He has such a dead personality and approach. I don't know how he's still in business. I wanted to cry the moment I left. NEVER AGAIN!
