Dr. Sohail Nasim, MD

... He said so himself. Literally. Sohail was the overseeing physician while my father was at West Hills Hospital where he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and pneumonia. He released him to come home with a prescription for an antibiotic which we tried to fill immediately but all local pharmacies needed to order it and it was 5-7 days before they could get a hold of it. We called the him 4 times with no call back. When we finally reached him and told him about the issue getting the meds (a full 4 days after my father's release) he said "what do you think, I'm a pharmacy?" This response was deeply upsetting. I let him know in a forceful tone that he was missing the point. Prescribing meds that aren't available and not returning a call to help care for a dying patient. His reply (his exact words): "I don't care" and he hung up. Sohail Nasim, you do not deserve to be a doctor. Shame on you. Stay away from this man. Do not hire him on staff. Do not subject yourself to his… care. Hippocratic oath violated!

If it was an option to give this doctor zero stars I would. I had an absolutely awful experience with him as my attending doctor while in West Hills Hospital. One of several negative encounters: I was struggling with pain management because I cannot use narcotics because of another medication I am on. He repeatedly prescribed more and more narcotics even though I explained several times in several ways that I cannot take them. In hopes of finding another option I offered to give Dr. Nasim my doctor's number to discuss possibilities. Before I could hardly get the sentence out he became very irate and rude. Saying things like "how dare you", "who do you think you are", "I know everything about every medication", "give me his number (my other doctor) and I'll prove you wrong". All I said back was "wow" because I was so shocked to which he replied "don't be dramatic". Unreal. It was one of the most disproportionate responses I've ever experienced. To have this happen on day 6 in… the hospital at one of my weakest points was awful. Also, side note, he had to go out of town and he had a doctor cover for him that had another doctor covering for him and it was as if none of them communicated my case between them. I believe my discharge was delayed because of this and I was discharged ultimately with the wrong medications. If you get him assigned as your doctor advocate for yourself to get a replacement because I can't imagine a situation in which he'd be remotely helpful. Good luck!

I was admitted into the hospital in 2017, for 4 broken ribs. “Dr.” Nasim was arrogant, rude and dismissive. He was abrupt each time he came to visit me, clearly in a hurry. After asking multiple times for him to slow his speech, as I could not understand his very thick accent, he made absolutely no effort. The nurse who sat with me during his final visit rolled her eyes when he left the room. I left two phone messages for him to address the care I received, but he never called back.

He was secured as an admitting doctor by West Hills Hospital emergency dept. He only visited with patient the first night but billed insurance for 4 days visits. At death of patient, he did not even know cause of death but all the other doctors did. He was the doctor in charge of coordination. He filled out death certificate with completely wrong cause of death and had to be forced to change it. He did not order patient's normal Rxs so patient had severe side effects, had no communication with family.Never recognized that patient (healthy 52 yrs old)developed fluid around lungs and heart, which was left untreated and patient died. This doctor left a seriously ill patient in a bed, did not communicate at all with family or other doctors or nurses and put no notes on the patients chart for 4 days but billed insurance company first and was immediately paid! Never sent any bill to patient or family. Had to get copy of bill directly from insurance company.

Never did I see this man. I was with my husband the last 4 days of his life, and never once saw him but am being billed for the Phantom Visits. STAY AWAY! !

This doctor absolutely refuses to properly follow Medicare's documentation requirements when he prescribes and medical equipment that Medicare covers. Medicare requires detailed Progress Notes and signed detailed written orders to approve a patient to be covered for medical equipment and he does not do it and refuses when asked.

I met Dr. Nasim through my dad staying at West Hills Hospital after a surgery. Dr. Nasim from the first visit paid so much attention to my dad and took his time through his daily visits, and prevented the possible complications that is usual with elderly patients. Dr. Nasim exceeded my family's expectation. If I could I would give him 10 Stars!!! Dr. Nasim is different from other Doctors; he cares about his patients.

Do not go to this office. Front office staff is rude and does not speak English well. Refuses to set an appointment on your first call. She claims she will call you back, but never does. A woman, I think may be Dr.'s wife is the same woman who answers the phone. She remained in the exam room during the entire exam. Doctor made no attempt to learn of my issues or if I had any concerns. Bottom line, do not go to this office. Poor grades all around. Second attempt to make an appointment to have some blood work ordered were simply rejected by the woman who answered the phone. Said she call me back. I said never mind, called my insurance co and had them assign me another doctor.
