Dr. Sohail Parekh, MD

I made an appointment for my husband at this doctor's office in Mesquite and would like to warn off others that this office is extremely unprofessional. Additionally, they charged us for a Wellness annual physical that's covered 100 percent by our insurance. When I pointed this out and provided a copy of my bank statement showing date/time and amount charged via email. They have been dodging my follow-up emails and calls. My husband took blood work, they FAILED to call us with results. We had to follow-up ourselves 4 weeks down the line. When we requested a copy of the results, they tried to charge us $15.00 for a copy. Mind you, they DO NOT have the ability for you to see your results online via "My Chart" or other medical tool, so you are at their mercy. When we protested, they provided it to us because they realized we couldn't be taken advantage of. They are a complete rip off, over-charging patients, not following up with results (he is pre-diabetic and complained about low… energy), they had that information however, failed to discuss with patient. We end up taking our blood work results to another PCP who put my husband on a treatment plan based on his results and low energy. I will have to open up a compliant with my insurance company and the medical board to get the refund of my office visit fees at this point.

We suspected my Mother of having a UTI & explained she'd been hospitilized earlier in the year with a sever one. He passed it off as she had no symptoms & told us she could give a urine sample when she had blood work done the next week at the lab. We didn't want to wait a week so we made arrangements the next day & upped our appt. to the next week to get results instead of the three week date they gave us. Turns out they can do a urine test IN HIS OFFICE, he didn't want to bother. A week & a half later he puts my Mother on an antibiotic. A few days after she's done with them we tell him her urine is still dark... He tells us the 2nd test was contaminated, but don't worry about it because she has no symptoms. (She never had any the first time she ended up in the hospital, but difficulty walking and hallucinations quickly set in.) Eventually, my Mother ends up in the hospital for 6 days on a very strong antibiotic. His office received the results from a THIRD test on a Thursday,… but he and office were too busy as he was going on vacation... We were called Sunday before the holiday from someone in his office stating she needed to go to the hospital at once... This 'Doctor' looks to have good credentials, but did nothing for my Mother but help delay treatment. Would NEVER recommend him for anything.

Accurate, up to date, considerate, humorous. He's "down to earth" and accessible, something I do not see in ordinary GPs where I'm from, and Parekh is an internist! Highly recommend this doctor.
