Dr. Patel is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Lifestyle Medicine. His journey into whole foods nutrition and lifestyle medicine started in 2014 as he saw that just by adding more medications patient were not getting healthier or better. The root cause of majority of today’s chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, heart disease, cancers and so forth are related to improper lifestyle and the biggest impact that one can make on starting to actually heal oneself is to work on changing their lifestyle. From his learning and experience over years, he has refined his treatment approach to “treating the whole person” and not just a system. Our mind and body play a collaborative role in our health and addressing the root cause of disease and appropriately working with patients on changing them along with medications as needed has become his approach. This led him to open a Lifestyle Medicine focused …Endocrinology practice in the suburb of Tampa, FL called the Center for Preventive Endocrinology and Nutrition, where he guides his patients work on making better lifestyle choices that can help improve health and reduce need for medications.

Dr. Patel was born and raised in India, and he did his medical schooling in India which imparts him a special perspective of eastern civilization. After graduating from medical school at B J Medical College in Ahmedabad, he came to United States and pursued Internal Medicine residency at University of Tennessee in Knoxville and thereafter Clinical Endocrinology fellowship at University of Alabama in Birmingham. After fellowship he moved to Tampa, FL where he lives and founded his lifestyle focused endocrine practice called Center for Preventive Endocrinology and Nutrition. He is a Diplomate of American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and has been inducted as a Fellow of American College of Endocrinology (FACE). He is also a doctor Patron for Crack Wellness Code (CWC), a 501c(3) nonprofit focused on spreading knowledge of lifestyle medicine and wellness across the world.
