Dr. Somya Sharma, DO

Dear Bryn Mawr Family Practice, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. My experience was both disturbing and deeply disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, the interaction with the medical staff was concerning. During my consultation, Resident Dr. Somya Sharma was inattentive and unresponsive to my concerns. She truly lacked empathy and sympathy for my current condition. It was as if seeing me was a bother or inconvenience for her. She huffed and puffed during my visit. I could hear Dr. Sharma’s conversation regarding me from the hallway. I believe her actions and behaviors are directly related to my last visit, where she inquired about open positions with my current employer, which never came to fruition for her. The level of unprofessionalism left me feeling uneasy and undervalued as a patient. Moreover, there was an MA (black male about 6ft tall, fair skin, solid build, and balding)… who slammed the door and stomped his feet while walking away, leaving the room filled with an uncomfortable silence and a palpable tension in the air. As a result of this experience, I have decided to seek care elsewhere. I believe it is imperative to bring these issues to your attention in the hope that your team will take immediate steps to improve the environment and professionalism within your practice. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy in a welcoming setting. Lastly, I would like to point out the outstanding professionalism displayed by the social worker named Summer. She truly helped me and guided me through my visit. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. Sincerely,
