Dr. Sonal Ram Khemani

Sonal Khemani, M.D., is committed to providing her young patients with the type of high-quality, equitable care that she would expect for her own children. She enjoys getting to know the people she treats and working with other providers to offer the best possible care.Fluent in Spanish and Gujarati, Dr. Khemani has served at primary care clinics in Mexico and Ecuador and worked in a pediatric intensive care unit in India. She also serves on the critical care and immigrant health committees for the American Academy of Pediatrics.Dr. Khemani earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. There, she received the Arthur Gold Humanism Award in recognition of her compassionate patient care. She then pursued a pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, followed by pediatric critical care fellowships at the University of Chicago and UCLA.Affiliated with City of Hope since 2013, Dr. Khemani …previously was the co-director of pediatric critical care, a role that enabled her to advocate for the safety of young patients across units. She also has been an attending physician at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Huntington Hospital, Miller Children’s Hospital, and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.Away from the clinic, Dr. Khemani enjoys spending time with her family, watching baking shows, and tending to her garden.
