Dr. Songya J Pang, MD

Dr. Pang has been my doctor for 21 years. She has been thorough & accuate in diagnosis and has educated me on how to live with my condition. I've always felt her #1 concern in my appointment is to focus on me. In emergency situations she is reachable and takes the time to be sure I'm attended to. I'm confident to recommend Dr Pang without any hesitation. I'm healthier because of you!

I trust Dr. Pang's judgment. She is the leading endocrinologist in the nation. It is because of her that CAH is a newborn screening test, which saved my son's life. I highly recommend her.

Dr.Pang has cared for my 12 yr old daughter since 2006 for CAH. She has ALWAYS been very thoughtful, caring, and thorough. It saddens me that she's retiring because I have such a great deal of trust in her and her treatment for my daughter throughout the years! I wish her the very best!!

In 2009 my daughter was diagnosed with an adrenal endocrine problem and we were referred to Dr Pang because of her expertise in the field. It was an emotionally difficult time for us, specially my daughter. She was too young to handle the cosmetic & medical complications of the condition, and was affected profoundly. In Dr Pang we found the ultimate doctor for my daughter. She diagnosed the condition accurately, guided us through the work up and monitored my daughter all these years. She also coordinated with different departments to provided allied care to my daughter. The allied care was to provide coping skills and supplement her emotional strength to deal with her illness. Whenever I called her with any concerns, she listened and spent a lot of time on the phone addressing all my concerns. Events unfolded just like Dr Pang predicted they would. : ) My daughter has adjusted well and is a happy kid now. We consider ourselves fortunate to have our daughter in Dr Pang's care.

Dr. Pang has been my daughter's doctor for over 7 years. She is a wonderful doctor who really cares for her patients. She takes the time to explain everything that is going on with your child and makes the best recommendations for them.

Dr. Pang was chosen for my son by his doctor at NIH, in 2008, because he has multiple rare diseases. Even though Chicago is a 300 mile drive for us, each way, and quite an expense, it was worth every bit of it. My son has had many many doctors in his life, some good, some horrible, and some great! Dr. Pang is definitely one of the GREAT!! Her, and her staff, took all the time we needed them to, to help co-ordinate my sons appointment dates and times with other doctor appointments he had and tried to make it all as convenient as possible for us. She always took the time with us to go over everything and anything we needed to during our appointments. Never making us feel rushed or hurried and always asking if we had any other questions or concerns before she ended the appointment. With the countless doctors that we deal with, the extent of my sons medical difficulties, and the time I spend doing so, I can not express how much I appreciate when a Doctor actually corresponds with… me, personally, regarding my sons treatment. Dr. Pang ALWAYS takes that extra step to talk with me, discuss treatment, or email with me to handle whatever it is. That really makes a big difference to a parent. I have and always will consider her to be one of the BEST doctors we have had the pleasure of having in our lives!! We are extremely grateful for all of her help and wonderful treatment and will miss her!

Doctor Pang always takes the time to go over any information with me and my family. During my visits she makes sure everything is covered and any changes necessary are made.

Our daughter has seen Dr Pang for 15 years, since she was 5 years old. Dr. Pang has always provided wonderful care for our daughter. She has treated her for her immediate needs, and for the long term goals of good bone health, fertility and height. Through the years, Dr. Pang trusted me to know my child and report to her when I saw changes and issues that needed to be addressed. As our daughter has gotten older, Dr. Pang has spoken to our daughter as a partner in her own care. I wish everyone who has a child with CAH could have an Endocrinologist as knowledgable as Dr. Pang.
