Dr. Sonia Marie Bennett Selbert, DDS

I would not recommend Dr. Sonia Bennet to anyone with children. During the consultation she was very condescending towards me and did not tolerate my 5 year old's behavior. Mind you he's 5 and was scared and in a lot of pain. Her assistants who work with her in both the Valpo and Schererville office also treated my son horribly. We went to Schererville for the consultation and he had the procedure done in Valpo. One assistant even told him to stop crying and scolded him telling him what I should do to correct his behavior. We did not seek another Dr because Dr. Bennett was the only one at the time who could take him after being seen by several Drs. In valpo Dr. Bennett was surprisingly pleasant but the same assistants treated my son horrible once again. I asked the assistant to stop but she did not. I do not know their names because they were not wearing name tags. I have honestly never been so disgusted with the unprofessionalism and lack of bedside manners that this practice… displayed.

A referral is necessary to see this oral surgeon. Called to make an appointment and was turned down because I didn't have a referral. My dentist recommended an implant, the endodontist that I went to also (without a referral, board certified) said an implant should be the course of action. I have xrays of the failed root canal, as well as regular dentist visit xrays for the last 10 years, and a good jaw structure for an implant. But really, a referral? When you need help and can't get it because you need a referral there is really some astute pretension going on here. Seek other options.

This says she is located in Oakland which is not the case. Dr. Bennett is located in Indiana.
