Dr. Sonia Garrido, OD

Dr. Sonia Garrido was born in Laredo, Texas, and raised in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Optometry from the University of Houston and received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1997. She completed clinical rotations in ophthalmology, contact lenses, and low vision at Lackland Air Force Base and the Eye Institute of San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Garrido joined Houston Eye Associates in 2020 with 23 years of optometric experience and after 18 years of owning and operating her own private optometric practice. Dr. Garrido is licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. Her focus is primary care optometry with an emphasis on family eye care including refractive care and fitting contact lenses. Dr. Garrido is bilingual both in English and Spanish and is currently accepting new patients at our Spring Branch and North Loop locations.
