Dr. Sonia Mehta, MD

First, everyone at Mid Atlantic Retina in Wilmington are wonderful. They make the experience of getting a needle in your eye an enjoyable one! They are warm and caring and actually care and listen to you. Now, Dr Mehta, I was referred by my general Optician, Dr Jeppe, just down the street. Our first visit over a year ago and she has been wonderful ever since. She takes the time to look you in the eye and really talk to you and makes sure you know exactly what is going on. I am always full of questions and she is patient and understanding and always answers all of them with kindness and precise accuracy. One word, WONDERFUL!!!

The office was organized and ran efficiently. I was seen timely. Staff friendly and smiling. The staff explained screenings and outcomes of each test. I had a better understanding of what was going on with my eye and they made me feel at ease. I would recommend this facility and physcian to others.

I was sent to Dr. Mehta by Dr. Tapino (Scheie Eye, Media, Pa) who I just adore. He sent me there because Scheie is so far for us to travel evne though I've been a patient there for over 35 years. I was hesitant to start with a new doctor after all these years. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Mehta. She is all Dr. Tapino said and more. Everyone there welcomes you with open arms. I especially like "Kim" and "Kayla". They are both sweethearts while maintaining their professional qualities. I must say Dr. Mehta is top notch. For the person who was angry about waiting so long I say over my 40 plus years with eye problems, there have been more times than I can count sitting in these eye specialist offices. I've also found that you sit the longest for the best. Think as to why so many would sit so long. Dr. Tapino and Dr. Mehta are worth the wait!

Caring, Gentle and Efficient

I have found Dr. Mehta to be knowledgable and extremely compassionate and caring doctor. She always takes time to answer any question I have. The staff from the receptions to the technicians are excellent. I have never waited for an excessive amount of time. The office is clean and bright. If you have a retina problem, I highly recommend Dr. Mehta. She has excellent credentials and a wonderfully encouraging attitude.

I have seen many Doctors in my 83yrs.But Dr.Mehta is by far the best.She is compassionate and very understanding. She handles the eye treatment so easy it was over before I had time to think about it.
