Dr. Sonia C Smithson, DDS

Dr. Sonia Smithson began her journey toward a career in dentistry at the young age of 14. Her love of serving people, avid interest in the sciences, outstanding manual dexterity, and skillful eye for art continued to fuel her pursuit of achieving excellence in dentistry.
Upon graduating from DuPont Senior High School in Hermitage, Tennessee, she received numerous college scholarships. She was the recipient of the Will R. Manier Rotary Club Scholarship, the E.B. Shepherd Memorial Scholarship, and a Work Scholarship at Tennessee Technological University.
Dr. Smithson received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Tennessee Technological University in June, 1981, graduating Magna Cum Laude. As an excellent student, she received numerous honors, awards and scholarships. She was inducted into the Mortar Board Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She received the Howard G. Ashburn Memorial Scholarship and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Scholarship.
Dr. Smithson received her …Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences (UTCHS) in June, 1985, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While attending UTCHS, she received numerous honors and awards, including the Scholastic Achievement Award from Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and selection to the IMHOTEP Society.
Dr. Smithson opened her dental practice in June, 1985, in Brentwood, Tennessee. She has continued to deliver the highest possible level of dental care to her patients for over 23 years. Dr. Smithson has been relentless in continuing her education, constantly participating in seminars and workshops. She is a member in the Tennessee Dental Association, the Nashville Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Alabama Implant Study Group, and the Middle Tennessee Dental Implant Study Club.
