Dr Blum has that rare ability to combine leadership capabilities with heartfelt support and clear and thorough communication. I cannot imagine better care. A true gift.

We have had a good experience with Dr, Sonja Blum. She helped reduce my husband's pluck in the brain to help the progress of his Alzheimer disease by getting IV treatments once a month in 12 months. Her manners are very good and she is a caring doctor. Communications with her outside appointments was the hard part in our experience.

She didn't show up for our appointment nor did she bother to cancel. Office is the worst.

I am pleased to write an unqualified endorsement of Sonja Blum, MD, PhD on behalf of my mother and family. Reviews like this can be difficult because often we want to preserve our privacy, or our interactions with the doctors we review are limited to specific appointment times. This one is different, at least in the sense that my family and I had occasion to work with Dr. Blum over the course of several years as our mother's trusted neurologist. My family's interaction with Dr. Blum was in connection with our mother's neuro-degenerative illness, which played out unpredictably over many years, obliging our mother and ourselves to confront new treatment scenarios on a progressive basis. As engaged as we, her family, her home health aides, her therapy teams, social workers, nurses, and medical teams were, it was an enormous help to us to benefit from Dr. Blum's knowledge, expertise, and insights. Without her support across the range of issues confronting our mother, I am not sure… how we would have managed. On several occasions, she saved our mother from unnecessary workups and dangerous medication errors whenever we met a new medical team unfamiliar with our mother's disease or patient history. Thanks to Dr. Blum's significant clinical experience and knowledge of the latest scientific findings, she also solved several diagnostic and clinical problems that befuddled other neurologists. In addition, she collaborated closely with other experts to ensure that we left no stone unturned in our effort to help our mother. I recently needed to take my partner to the ER for what looked like symptoms of a stroke. Dr. Blum came in to analyze the CT scan results and talk with us about what might be going on. When a stroke was ruled out, she took plenty of time to talk with my partner and me about what was going on so she could make an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Blum was in civilian clothes and seemed to have been called in on her day off, but she never gave the impression of being rushed or inconvenienced. She was completely respectful of me and my partner. Anyone who sees her is in good hands!
