Dr. Sonny Valooran Joseph, MD

Dr. Sonny Joseph has been treating my family member for 23 years. Dr. Joseph has continued to treat him despite my family member’s complex problems he has had throughout these years. In times of crisis I was able to reach this doctor. He was able to help us as a family by providing guidance and the proper medication for my family member to get him back on track.

I have been a patient of Dr. Joseph’s for a few years. He has always treated me with care and concern, and I am lucky to have found him. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Joseph and his qualified and expeditious staff are to be applauded for their hard work, diligence, kindness and compassion. I (and his patients) very much appreciate and am grateful to him and his staff.

I have been going to Dr. Joseph for over 10 years now. He is so smart, patient and very knowledgeable. I want to highly recommend him for adults and children as my daughter is seen by him too. I can't say enough good things about him. Oh and his staff is so friendly and helpful and he is always on time for your appointment.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Joseph for nearly 20 years. He’s intelligent, extremely knowledgeable, and certainly cares about his patients. His entire staff is fabulous and always accommodating. In regard to this site/forum, there are “negative” reviews published repeatedly and obsessively from the same retaliatory people. There should be a limit to how many reviews one can post.

First of all, I went to Dr. Joseph in 1997, seeking help and he gave me a diagnosis, but he really didn't want me to get caught up in a label, which I understand. He gave me some advice and meds and they were a tremendous help. In fact, my life finally felt normal after many years of pain. But I had to move away and was diagnosed with something similar, but not exactly what he had said so my meds were different and I was up and down for many years. Anyway, in 2017, I moved back to Longwood and knew I wanted to go back to Dr. Joseph, but I lived about 45 min to 1 hour from his office so my GP said they could prescribe my meds. Well, later my GP and I agreed I really needed to start seeing a psychiatrist again. There was only so much he could do and I was struggling. I found someone else that I went to for 5 years then I had a TERRIBLE experience with her and she has the worst ratings (Center for Psychiatry: Dr. Naomi Jones - just google her stay away from her) and if you want… to know the full story google her name and read my review. So back to Dr. Joseph I went. I almost cried because he was like a breath of fresh air. I felt totally safe with him and really wished I hadn't wasted my time with the other office just to save myself a few minutes. Even though he runs a very busy office you would NEVER know it. There's never a wait more than 10 minutes or so, he never overbooks appointments, the office staff runs like a well oiled machine. They are efficient, helpful, and courteous. EVERYONE shows you they care. He is one in a million. But after a year or more he and I agreed I would try once again to try to find someone closer. But I was unsuccessful in finding someone reputable and close. Anyway, after arriving back again (3rd time is a charm) in Dr. Joseph's office, I hardly had to explain while I was back before he shook his head and said he's hearing some horror stories that are similar to my experience. I pray he never retires. What is going on? What will we do? If you want to feel cared for, this man is one of the few. Thanks for reading this. Do your homework, read reviews, but don't waste your time, just call Dr. Joseph.

Dr. Sonny Joseph was the 1st Doctor to get my medication right for my depression, anxiety, and ADD. For that I’m so grateful that I was able to find him when I first moved to Florida in 2007. It’s been a life changing experience.

My husband suffers from Bipolar disorder and sleep issues. With Dr. Joseph's help my husband is able to rest more easily and live happy without chaos. :-) My husband sees Dr. Joseph on a regular basis. He is always a good listener but also direct and honest with feedback. On the rare occasion that we are running later or need to move an appointment, the staff is courteous and as flexible as the doctor's schedule will allow. We love Dr. Joseph and are so glad we found him!

After 8 years I can say Dr Sonny Joseph is a great doctor. He has helped me through highs and lows. He has given meds and taken them away. That is what a good Dr. does. I couldn't have done it without him.If you want a good doctor he is the one.
