Dr. Sonya Lenaa Black, MD

Dr. Sonya Black has, without question, been the Primary Care Doctor I have been looking for my entire life. At this point, that’s 39 years. Up until meeting her, I had an extreme phobia about going to the doctor due to being treated like a patient number instead of a human. She takes the time to talk, she is an expert at building trust, and solves problems like she cares. Like your her family. I will continue to trust her with consulting about my health and being my physician as long as we share the same city. She is the epitome of the Hippocratic Oath and a valuable asset to any place she chooses to heal and help others.

Dr. Black always listens carefully and always seems to know just what to do. I highly recommend her.

I have been seeing Dr. Black for over a year now and she is AMAZING!!!! I moved from Chicago where all of the clinics there you are waiting for 45min and then only see the Dr. for 10, Dr. Black really takes the time and doesn’t treat you like cattle. Thank you Dr. Black!!!

I quit going to her because she was very intense- for the first 6 minutes of my 7 minute appointments I would hear all her complaints and maladies. I think she needs a break.

Recently moved to Denver and have Dr. Black as my primary physician. She is skilled, listens and has a wonderful and caring personality. Best Dr I have had in a long time. I would not hesitate to highly recommend her!

I will just say that Dr. Black is the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. She is brilliant, personable, passionate about what she does, communicates effectively, and really takes the time to get to know her patients and their symptoms. She never makes you feel as though she needs to hurry up and finish with you, but is to the point and very specific. I don't have a single negative thing to say about Dr. Black. She knows her stuff and I certainly trust her with any ailment myself or my family may have. I am glad she is no longer at Cherry Creek Family Practice (don't like the office or other staff members) and look forward to following her to the next clinic.

Had Dr Black at Kaiser for several years. She was friendly, knowledgeable and informative in general and specifically wonderful at diagnosing problems I was having as a result of my walking regime. She was able to provide solutions that worked and got me back on the path. Loved her energy and enthusiasm, and I was sad when she moved on. Now, with the ACA, Kaiser will no longer be available to me and I'm hoping against hope that Dr Black takes our company's new insurance.

Dr. Black has been such a great doctor for me. I went through a very difficult time. Dr Black goes above and beyond. She called a few times to check on me. She has even called on her day off. I have never had a doctor I felt cared if I lived or died like I do with her. If she does not know something she is honest and refers to the experts. I would always recommend her.
