I made call to make an appointment and even though she could not help with what I needed, she personally got on the phone with me and explained why and made suggestions to where I could go. This in my opinion was above and beyond. The person that answered the phone was also very courteous and helpful.

Dr. Wakil is amazing. I have had a lot of doctors and therapists and no one measures up! She makes time for me when I need her. She has been getting better about the wait , but will give me my time too so I don't feel cheated.

I am respectful of the other patients' comments. However, my experience is that Dr. Wail is a very effective clinician (as relates to medication recommendations) as well as therapist. In my 20 years of working with psychiatrists, I have never found one skilled at both. It is true that you sometimes wait to see her; however, my experience is that her office staff is EXCELLENT at alerting you to any delays ahead of your appointment. Dr. Wakil is an engaged therapist - not one who sits and stares at you. The longevity and breadth of experience has enabled her to very effectively counsel me not only about me, but also through some meaningful challenges with my son and my husband There have been times when I have needed to remind her of certain personal details but for me, her strengths far outweigh this minor inconvenience. She is the only psychiatrist I have worked with who I feel finally got my meds right. When she has made med recommendations to me, she encourages me to think and… do reading about her suggestions before making changes. I value being one of her patients.

I've been seeing her for over a year. And she still doesn't know my name. When calls she addresses me as mister instead if miss. She never remembers anything about me. Always asks me my prescription. And is always late at least thirty minutes..every appointment.

She will try and get you to take anty-physchotic drugs and get you into a worsened state.
