Dr. Soo Mi Lee-Samuel, MD

I saw her at Timberline Knolls. After requesting to change lodges, she punitively placed me in a restricted unit "for 2-3 days." I was stuck there for 8 days because she didn't show up when scheduled day after day. She ordered forcible administration of a sedative because i had a (relatively minor) anxiety attack. When I finally met with her and tried to explain why I wanted to be moved, she told me "Your options are to go back to [lodge] or go to a psych ward where, frankly, i wouldn't even send my dog." She told a fellow patient's husband that "she need[ed] to learn how to be told 'no.'" One resident got so distressed by her that they -- while under her supervision -- carved her name into their arm. Stay away. Stay far, far away.

Dr. Soomi Lee-Samuel is by far the most intellegent, intuitive, kind, professional psychiatrist I've ever experienced. My daughter has seen her for the last 5 years, since the age of 4. Dr. Lee has been a HUGE aid in diagnosing and correctly medicating our daughter. She's on top of her game, very knowledgeable, very reasonable, has an amazing bedside manner and truly CARES about her patients. I have personally thanked her on several occasions for making such a huge difference in our lives. My favorite thing about her is that she KNOWS my child, knew her after just a couple visits. Comments on they way my daughter looks - look in her eye, the way she holds herself, how quiet or talkative she may be - she takes the time and notes the very details that make my child an individual and treats her accordingly. I cannot say enough good things about her. Dr. Lee only works 2 days a week so it is very difficult to get into her as a new patient but believe me, it's MORE than worth the wait!!
