I was born in South Korea and immigrated to the US when I was seven years old. I graduated from Pomona College in 1988 and received my medical degree from the UC San Diego in 1992. I then completed a general surgery internship at UC San Diego in 1993 and completed my neurosurgical residency at the USC in 2000.
