Dr. Soren Nathaniel Carlsen, MD

Dr. Soren Carlsen of Maui Urology is the best. Clearly better than any urologist I have found on the mainland. He’s smart, compassionate and takes the time to properly diagnose your problems while recommending an effective remedy. I consider myself lucky to have found him and hope Maui can manage to keep him here. He’s a treasure.

When I asked Dr. Carlsen about a procedure, he offered to schedule a diagnostic test to see if I was a candidate. He told me it would be a $100 charge—no mention of insurance, no mention of additional costs. Just a flat $100 test. I paid that amount at the time of the appointment. Eight months later, I received a phone call from their billing department telling me I had an outstanding $900 bill and would be sent to collections in 10 days. I had never received a single bill—not by mail, not by email. Nothing. The first contact I had about this charge was a collections threat. I paid the bill, but I won't be returning. When a doctor quotes you a price, you expect that to be the price. And when there's an outstanding balance, you expect to receive a bill before a collections call eight months later. Patients deserve honest pricing and basic billing communication.

Dr. Roston is great! Down to earth, professional, knowledgeable, & has a good bedside manner. She is easy to talk with, which put me more at ease & less nervous/anxious during my procedure. The staff are all very friendly, creating a comfortable atmosphere during my visits to the Clinic.

I missed an appointment during covid....... They never reminded me about appointment during covid... and canceled me which was TOTALLY their fault.. Don't waste your time with an uncaring docto... Who only cares about you for your $$$$$money$$$$$$$$$ Because if you don't show up he cannot bill the VA.... He definitely does NOT care about you the human being.. ITS CLEAR,.....HE ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR $$$$MONEY. *****BEWARE****** STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY.....FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.....!!!!

I made an appointment to see Dr. Carlsen. When I got there the PA saw me, I never saw or spoke with the doctor. Had the requested tests and no one EVER called me to discuss the results. Very unprofessional treatment and no follow up.

Since my original urologist (excellent urologist) had to take early retirement many years ago I've had 4 urologists not including Dr. Carlsen. Dr. Carlsen is the best. Dr. is very knowledgeable, efficient, have excellent communication skills and even though this was my first visit I felt very comfortable and have great confidence in him. Wish we had more doctors like Dr. Carlsen

the very best, fast recovery and excellent operation.

Dr. Carlson was knowledgable and attentive. He took many steps to diagnose and treat my condition. It was very painful and I'm glad I was in his hands for the healing process. Thank you Dr. Carlson.

Dr Carlsen is compassionate and kind. He spends as much time as the patient needs to make them feel comfortable with their care. He can run behind but it is because he allows all his patients to ask the questions they need. He will always give an honest opinion on surgery, even if he recommends against it.

Dr.Carlsen provides me the most sincere and compassionate care I have ever had. He explaines everything to me in great detail. I always leave my appointments feeling very cared about and well informed. I have to admit that my anxiety over my health issues are much better now that I know there is a great doctor looking after me and his great nurse too she is always there for comfort and support.
