Dr. Spencer Keane, DPM

Dr. Spencer Lawrence Keane is a distinguished podiatric surgeon, highly regarded for his expertise in advanced reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. He possesses strong expertise in forefoot, rearfoot, trauma, and revisional reconstructive surgery. He completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. Dr. Keane has most recently served as Chief Resident at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, specializing in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery of the Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle treatment. Through the Emory University Podiatric Medicine program, one of the most respected in the country, Dr. Keane trained under some of the most prominent doctors in the field. Dr. Keane is board qualified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery in both Foot and Rearfoot/Ankle surgery. Dr. Keane regularly contributes to the profession …with publications and ongoing research projects focused on critical areas including the efficacy of 3D implanted bone models for reconstructive surgery. He has also shared his insights on foot and ankle topics at several national conferences as a speaker. As a faculty member for the Podiatry Institute, a non-profit foot and ankle education foundation, Dr. Keane continues to mentor colleagues across the country. He enjoys sharing insights on innovative techniques and new technologies to offer better treatment options to patients. Dr. Keane was born in Chicago near Lincoln Park. He grew up in Ohio and after high school he moved to Colorado and worked alongside Ski Patrol to provide emergency medical assistance for guests at Vail Resorts. Afterwards he moved back to Ohio and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH. A former hockey player, Dr. Keane is a lifelong sports enthusiast. He is an avid hiker, enjoys working out, and engages in a variety of outdoor activities. Dr. Keane and his fiancee are renovating their western suburban house, where they are preparing their home’s large yard for their future Golden Retriever. Known by patients and colleagues for his problem solving and communication skills, Dr. Keane ensures the best care for each person. One of his greatest assets is his ability to relate to patients, develop an understanding of their lifestyle, and to customize treatment plans based on each person’s unique set of circumstances.
