Dr. Srinivas Erragolla, MD

Have been seeing Dr Erragolla for about 9 years. Most of the time he is friendly and cares, like everyone else he can have an off day and seem rude but mostly easy to talk to. His staff in Dayton are very friendly. I have seen times when I have had a very long wait but most of the time, I'm in and out in less than an hour.

Dr Erragolla became my pain management physician due to the VA outsourcing my treatment to the local pain clinic in Dayton, OH. I was not happy about my treatment being outsourced by the VA, however the VA is vastly understaffed in pain management treatment physicians. I must travel 48 miles one way every month to visit the pain center to validate my continued need for pain medicine and have them prescribe the medications to then travel to the VA to fill the prescription. I must pass a urinalysis test approximately every 90 days to ensure I am taking the medication and not diverting it along with testing to ensure I am not using un-prescribed medicines to treat my chronic pain. Having set my circumstances along with the level of irritants I must face monthly, I will describe my interactions with my physician. Dr. Erragolla has been cooperative, understanding, and sympathetic with my needs and frustrations. Dr. Erragolla described a treatment of cortisone that would reduce my… pain and improve my mobility. I voluntarily agreed to try this treatment as my level of medication was approaching unsustainable levels. I received cortisone shots in my neck, lower back and left hip. They were given one each month in consecutive months due to diabetes and proper medical procedures. The shot in my neck (C6-C7) was first and provided immediate and considerable relief from my severe stenosis. The second shot was in my lower back(L4-L5) and also provided immediate and considerable relief, especially when waking in the morning when mobility had been substantially limited prior to the cortisone shot. The third shot was in my left hip, where I have a labrum tear and osteoarthritis bone spurs. This shot was the least effective, however it did allow enough relief that I was able to place my left ankle on my right knee without excruciating pain and go about my daily activities such as putting a sock on my left foot. My consultations with Dr. Erragolla have been cordial and informative. He takes time to explain treatment options as well as the limitations of these options. He listened to my concerns, and when requested reduced the amount of medication due to the relief obtained by the cortisone shots. I am permitted 6 shots per year, and as they wear off, I will request additional cortisone treatment in conjunction with daily medication. As a veteran, like so many other veterans, I have been on the receiving end of incompetent or uncaring doctors. This is NOT the case here. Dr Erragolla provides timely, compassionate treatment while listening to my concerns and plots a course of treatment that includes my input permitting me to actively participate in my well-being.

Erratic & can b rude

This guy has given me my life back. I was in extreme pain for over 2 years and on the first visit as I was leaving he told me he wasn't 100% convinced I had fibromyalgia. He told me he was 100% convinced they I had a rotator cuff problem and he suspected I had low vitamin D. He was 2 for 2. In about 3 weeks I was already starting to feel better. Now about 60 days I am a new person again. I can't thank him enough.
