My son has seen Ravi since her was about 5 years old when Dr Sattar failed us. He took my sons case without issues and we got in quick. My son has seen him monthly or quartly since he was 5 and is now 15 years old. He dont sugar coat anything and makes sure that everything is understood about what is going on. I love the fact that he speaks to my son and makes sure that he knows that medication isnt a cure that he has to do the work along side it. That the medicatio cant help wit his lack of growing up or acting his age along that he needs to do that on his own. He will get on my son when hes been doing poorly in school and explain what and why so that he can understand. The wait is some times long and sometimes we dont get in for a few months because hes booked but its worth the wait beacuse hes a good doctor and will go to bat for you and your child if need be. I think alot of the 1 star ratings on this site are people who didnt get there way or all together just not good parents… if you do your job as a parent he can help with the rest and what he cant help with he will refer you out to someone who can help!! I am a semi verbal autistic and during the parent visit when I was hospitalized for a suicide attempt I lost my voice. Told me I wasn't speaking to get attention. I was 14 at the time, and he gave me an antipsychotic medication not meant to be given to any person under 21.

I self admitted myself into the hospital with the assistance of my father. I was in a horrible state of mind, and was really looking for a temporary support situation. This is what everyone who enters this part of the hospital is really looking for. The nurses were very supportive, if you were kind to them. Because of this, I was expecting the same thing with the Doctor, especially with how highly they had been speaking about him. I felt I was in the correct place. The next day I was nervous, but excited. He was the first psychiatrist I was ever going to meet! He was a few hours late, and had a parent meeting with a different patient there. But eventually it was my turn. I greeted him, offered a handshake that was just left open, and sat down. He looked up at me, but there was no conversing happening between us, not even natural small talk. I felt like I was just paperwork. Towards the end of that discussion, I brought up a disorder that I believed I could possibly have had. He… actually scoffed, looked up at me, and said "of course you do." I left his office feeling belittled and shamed for just being at the hospital to get help. None of my experiences with him improved, he had actually forgotten the day I was to be released (which he chose). He didn't edit any of my medications, or even suggest anything. He just gave a simple diagnosis of mild dysthymia (mild depression) when I already have been diagnosed with MDD... As an extra little piece, as I was leaving with my mom, he was leaving alongside us. My mom attempted to initiate conversation. Nothing happened there. We happened to leave the parking lot at the same time, and he even ran a red light in his little white lexus... I hate being so critical of another person, but it is just unfair. It is unfair how all of the patients and their family are treated. I am not even a person who complains if their order is wrong at a restaurant. But these are children in need. Not just paperwork. Or items to sort through. I believe this man is fully incompetent.

excellent Dr. He tells you as it is . lot of mothers who are disgruntled with his care are actually irresponsible and angry because he lets them know what the problem is. very knowledgeable with his diagnosis and treatment . he does not sugar coat issues. you want to get better he is the doctor.

I seen this man as a child. He was rude as could be. I was being abused but he didn't care to look into that instead just diagnosed me with multiple disorders including bipolar and depression at 10. He didn't ask why I cried everyday he simply gave me meds. I was at one point on 7 different meds at one time. I am now 23 with 2 children haven't been on meds in years and am doing great. But this man could have really damaged my brain with all the unnecessary meds he was pumping in me. As a licensed psychiatrist he should've known better. But hey he got his degree in a foreign country what do you expect. You wouldn't trust a Iraqi surgeon who got his degree their would you? What really got me is how he always claimed I had an attitude when I would ask him to repeat himself sorry I cant understand your accent dr.

I was hospitalized and he took care of me. Lot of the parents I saw we're angry irresponsible mothers who neglect their kids and hope he can fix them. The dr. Is knowledgeable , kind and knows what he is doing. He tells you as it is. Some these people who get angry with him are sick. I am doing well . I would recommend him highly. Thanks

As a child I had to go see this man I tried to tell him what was going on and what had happened. I have add so my "story" bounced around a lot. He interrupted me told me I was lying bc I skipped a detail when in fact I just hadn't got the point yet then argued with me about it telling me I was a liar then diagnosed me with schizophrenia and anger management issues. This dr made my childhood the horror that it was bc my mother believed him. Thanks again doc. Parents listen to your children with an open mind.. It'll help.

After days of sleeplessness & loss of appetite over the trauma surrounding my BP son's admittance, I walked into his office for the first meeting & never having met the guy, he actualy started yelling at me blaming me for my child's problems. My son required stitches after 2 days there. I still wonder if they have shatterproof windows on the locked ward doors now. At any rate, I have a letter of apology from his supervisor.I realize people have bad days, but I've never seen him have a good one. He was cold rude & condescending to his staff.

He tells you as it is. Lot of people do not like it that way.His medical knowledge is very good.Parents of his patients do not take responsibility for their kids. He is very clear about how he sees the family.
