I was warned by multiple people not to make an appointment here after hearing accounts of how they were treated by Dr. Gowda and how horrendous he is. Well, I made the mistake of making an appointment anyway. Doctor Gowda is belittling, rude, demeaning, dismissive, and impatient. It’s very clear from the moment he walks in the room that he has no interest in listening and is in a rush to leave. I don’t think I was able to finish a single thought or sentence in the entirety of our conversation (luckily, it was only about 10 minutes) and then he had the audacity to say that speaking with me was ‘frustrating’ because ‘I don’t know anything’ due to the fact that he was cutting me off the entire time/ not letting me think about my responses- the exact opposite of how somebody in this field should act. He’s so out of touch and has no bedside manner or people skills whatsoever. It’s people like him that are the exact reason that people with mental health issues don’t seek help. It was a… huge step for me to finally seek help for my mental health and this man was an IMMEDIATE turn off. It’s everything I can do not to quit after day one and I will ONLY be returning because a majority of the session was spent talking to an APN who was wonderful and Dr. Gowda only consulted for about 10 minutes towards the end. Unfortunately, 10 minutes was all it took for me to be reduced to tears the second he left the room after what would have been a successful appointment had he never walked in the room. I whole heartedly believe the ONLY thing keeping him in business is those same APNs he works along side of. This man does not have a leg to stand on on his own. Do NOT go here. Do NOT contribute your money or time to this man’s livelihood. I am disgusted by the way I was treated by him. He is an appalling human being. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Seek treatment elsewhere.

Dr. Gowda has saved my life ~ it has been years that I have suffered with mental health disorders and received improper diagnoses ~ Dr. Gowda sat with me to discuss my symptoms, my history and took his time with me and my husband and he was caring and concerned for me. Most of all Dr. Gowda listened to me and anyone who suffers from any of these conditions will tell you that that is the most important issue. He prescribed medications that are working perfectly for me. I received the TMS treatments and that really helped me immensely. I will continue with this therapy on an as needed maintenance basis. His staff is professional and caring as well and the experiences that I have had with everyone there keeps me peaceful and positive. Michael Kaplan is a therapist I use for my weekly therapy sessions. My family and I are forever grateful for this magnificent team. I highly recommend this office and team and I am continuing my treatment with them.

I have been going to Dr. Gowda for years. He truly wants the best for his patients and seeks to help them reach their goals. He doesn't want patients to just settle for anything, but encourages them to "go for the gold" by providing the newest treatments and resources available. Recently, he began offering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, (TMS) therapy in his office. This therapy helped me in so many ways. I have more confidence and motivation than I had before and am starting a new job soon. The staff at his office are also very professional and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Gowda.

I will never go back to this man. He is insulting, and pushes this TMS treatment. If you decline, his attitude changes immediately

I called and had to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment. Now, 3 days before my appointment, some lady in the office calls me to tell me my appointment was never made because they can’t see new patients after 2 pm!! When I questioned why wasn’t I told that when I call 6 weeks ago, she admitted a former employee made the appointment and did it wrong! So now instead of owning their mistake I have to suffer longer and find another doctor who can help me. This doctor is supposed to help people NOT make them feel like they are NOTHING!! You would think they would be a little more understanding when dealing with mental health patients. What if I take my own life because I didn’t see a doctor in time!!! This doctor is a great example of how horrible this country is handling MENTAL HEALTH!!!!!

I have been seeing Dr Gowda for years. This is after my old psych left the practice where I was seeing him for years and I had not been informed. When I was switched to another psych at the old office, I had no choice and no forewarning. They treated me like a guinea pig and I was worse than ever. Fast forward to finding Dr Gowda. He is knowledgable about medications. He got me on the right medication quickly and I am now functioning better than ever. Getting my medication right literally helped me change my life for the better. I would not begrudge another patient for their opinion, but one has to understand that Dr Gowda works with a difficult population. I am not personally an addict, but I'm aware that the doctor works with addicts. As soon as they go in his office and demand medication that he's not willing to prescribe, they throw temper tantrums and give bad reviews. Just as a side note, I am employed by a treatment facility, so I'm well aware of the "behaviors." I… don't care if the doctor eats in his office. He's not performing surgery, requiring a sterile field. I'm sure he spends a lot of time in his office and doesn't take breaks in order to eat. His office staff has always been courteous to me. The wait times do vary. Sometimes I get in quickly and sometimes there is a long wait. I think that's any medical office. I don't have insurance right now and his fees are more than reasonable for his profession. Overall, I have no complaints.

A great listener

Excellent Psychiatrist. He’s very knowledgeable about meds and allows plenty of time to consult with patients. I have seen 2 other psychologists in my life. They don’t come close. As long as he is in practice and I am alive. I will be his patient.
